Incredible! Such a cool and atypical hostel. If you're looking for a place near Amsterdam but away from the craziness, Lucky Lake is worth its own visit. Wish we'd planned to spend less time in the city, but we'll definitely be back. Staff is super helpful. Met a load of interesting guests. Facilities were all clean and functional. Cozy set-up. Only difficulty was taking the proper metro back to the Lucky Lake station.

Love the concept and idea. Had a fantastic time during our stay. Perhaps, moving forward for improvement, Lucky Lake could consider organising activities or tours in daily or bi daily basis. Of cos with a price. This could be helpful for newcomers or during foul weather. Ie. Amsterdam city tour, trip to village n windmills or night tour to the RLD. Definitely recommend to my friends. Awesome lively n friendly staffs. Excellent!

Loved this place. My stay at lucky lake was the highlight of my trip! In my experience, being out of the city centre means a better time had by all and that is so true for this hostel. Its about 20 minute train ride and 15 minute 1€ hostel shittle into the city. The rooms are doubles which are cute made up caravans. I loved the atmosphere and the staff are like friends! Have fun being Dutch in amsterdam living it up by the lake, smoking in the lucky lounge or taking a bike to the local town :D

A real recommendation if you are into the busy life of Amsterdam but enjoy the escape and relaxing atmosphere of Lucky Lake! we went by car and is by far the easiest and cheapest way to visit Amsterdam because you can go by metro to the city centre. the caravans are awesome, off course not huge, but that's all part of the experience. the lounche area and kitchen and reception are perfect. also the breakfast and possible snacks are all very good. you can tell they are not after your money!

Very original hostel. Many services and beautiful location. The breakfast was really nice. Recommendable if you are staying in a warm season. In winter this must be like staying in a freezer because the showers and the toilets are separated from the rooms, outside. There is a transport service to get you to the nearest metro station (although you have to pay 1€ aprox.). This is really good, because the hostel is quite far from the center of Amsterdam. Best Price/quality relationship.

this is really a fantastic place with caravan around. The room is quiet clean, definatley value for the money. Even it is a little bit far away from central,30mins away,it is still highly recommended.I will live there if i go to amsterdam again.

Staff was really friendly, breakfast was awesome, and the vibes that you get from the whole place is just amazingly relaxing. Would definitely, DEFINITELY recommend to anyone who is planning to go for a holiday in Amsterdam. Best hostel I've ever stayed at in Amsterdam for sure.

Thanks for a lovely time. The cabins are great and so is being able to get out in the countryside a bit while still being close to Amsterdam. A lot of people never seemed to leave(even to make it to the lake!) but it's actually a really nice location for a bit of space to explore and easy to get into town too. I'd definitely consider coming back.

It's a big problem to come back to the hotel after midnight. And it's almost impossible to go there walking from the closest station> Think twice about the hostel's location before picking it up. We ended up paying a lot for transportation. For example, we paid 35 euros taxi to take us from a nearby metro station to the hostel at 2am. Basically, between 1 am and 8 am, taxi is the only way to get there. A bit problematic, considering everything is closed in Amsterdam after 4am.

The room is very small. It is cold at night as there is no proper heating facilities. Moreover, the bathroom and toilets are outside your room which are shared by all people, sometimes you may wait in a long queue for grooming. All in all, this hostel is not convenient for guests.

Good deal for the money, very clean and nice sized rooms. I would warn all solo travelers though that this is more of a "couples" hostel due to the large number of two person campers and it may be harder to meet people than normal hostels.

The staff was very friendly and helped with everything we asked of them. The shuttle was very convenient, the facilities were kept clean, and everything was in fine working order. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay there when we visit Amsterdam again.

Quite a special hostel, good location and extremely committed staff. The vans are tiny, however that does not matter if you've come to enjoy the country & people and don't plan to spend much time inside. This hostel might be of particular interest to young people between 16-25.

This hostel is like a hippie paradise. It's close enough to Amsterdam that you can take the shuttle and then the metro into the city centre. The beds are comfy and rooms are cute! The only thing that was rough about our stay was that it was absolutely freezing, and the heater and extra blankets in our room still didn't keep us from being cold. The bathrooms are like camp bathrooms so we had to walk a bit in the cold to use them. The staff was nice enough to drive me to the airport for 35 euros.

I like the idea of living in the caravan which is really an unique experience! But it's a little bit away from the center but with the shuttle bus it's ok~ There is a problem that it's still cold during these days when we lived there, but the stuffs worked there are sofriendly and offer us the warming equipment~ Any way, I like the experience living in this hostel and if I had a chance to go to Amsterdam again, I would like to go back to this place again!
