We had a very nice stay, except,. I was dissapointed about not having water.I understand that it is very dry and water needs to be saved. It would have been nice to be told about that situation in advance. It really is necessary to shower after ocean swimming. The staff was not very communicative about it. I also would have liked to be informed of the distance from the beach and how steep the climbing is to get back to the hostel. I was also NOT happy about the aggressive dog onsite.

This is a very special place - wonderful staff , a cool place ... like being in a tree house , but a beautifully appointed one !Right by the town. Amazing breakfast and wonderful coffee all day ! There were some restrictions on water use . The hostel can be compromised during the dry season as their well is not sufficiently large to supply North American style water useage .This is part of the Costa Rican experience and actually not a hardship . I would go back there in a second!

I wouldn't know anything because I reserved the hostel and got there and my reservation wasn't valid, and we couldn't stay there. I didn't receive a cancelation e-mail from hostel world or from the hostel and did not get refunded my deposit, even though I did not cancel, the hostel canceled on me and I didn't know about it until I showed up to stay there.

The staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was awesome and worth the $15 rate/night. Even though there are no locks on the doors, I felt very safe. Rooms and bathrooms were always clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.

Friendly staff, seemingly mostly guests who have stayed on doing work-trade. Nice breakfast of pico de gallo mornings included in the price. Trekking the hill up to the place carrying luggage is a workout...but well worth it. Tucked back up on a hill in a jungle like setting, able to see monkeys, pizotes, and other cool vida silvestre. A nice place to stay that I would recommend.

Nice little hostel. Bit noisy since right on main road. Rooms are small too and no lockers. Breakfast is great, although juice would be nice as well. And the staff is amazing. Very clean with great washrooms :)

I loved my stay here. The atmosphere was very relaxing yet fun at the same time. I stayed at a few different hostels during my trip to Costa Rica and this was by far my favorite!

BRING YOUR BUG SPRAY! our dorm room had a whole side without a screen or window. actually, there were no windows so it was quite noisy and bug-filled. my friend and i got eaten alive by the bugs in this room. while the staff and vibe was really good, they seriously need to spring for some screens. there were also no locks on the doors so be sure to bring locks for your bags
