We were very well welcomed. The person at the reception immediatly gave us a lot of tips on what to do.The hostel in itself is in need of some heavy renewal work (apparently already ongoing on the 3rd floor). The 5 bed room was not very big but then again it had all we need except hot water (we had to go to the hallway for a hot shower). The heating was barely able to keep the room at an acceptable temperature but I have to say the temperatures were abnormaly cold outside(-10).brkfst =value4money

We stayed in the hostel for one weekend. Everything was dusty because of renovations and the staff was working until 11 pm. When we entered the room it wasn't cleaned yet and after asking for the breakfast which is mentioned on the homepage we were told that there is so breakfast in January because it's out of season (which is not mentioned on the homepage). There was also no warm water. We had to pay at our arrival and got no money pack.

When i arrived on Lybeer Hostel it was completely different from what I have seen on the website. Although the staff is very friendly and helpful, it doesn't change the fact that the hostel is very poor, inside it looks like a really old house. They are reforming it now, so I hope it gets better. I would never stay there again. The location is the high point of the hostel.

Very helpful staff, excellent price. My room was found to not have a working heater, so they upgraded me to a double at no extra cost.

This was my favourite place to stay during my whole vacation. I felt so comfortable the entire time I was there, and the people were incredibly helpful.

I was in a 4 bed mixed dorm and it was the worst room I've ever been. It was extremely small and the mattress was very dirty! It was impossible to find space for the luggage, I had to sleep with my backpack in my bed and to walk on the other people luggage to get to my bed!!! The room smelled awfully and so the corridor. Beside this the staff was nice and the free walking tour too. But I wouldn't come here again.

Nice hostel, nice staff. Private room was overpriced though, it was pretty crappy and there was no warm water. I would probably come back, but just book a dorm instead.

We were only there for 1 night, but we really enjoyed our stay! The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that there was free wifi in our room and there was a kitchen and a social area to hang out. I would absolutely recommend the Lybeer Travellers' Hostel to anyone!

Not enough showers or toilets per floor. Shower on my floor was cold. Toilets were very cramped. Seems to be building repairs going on, lumber lying around the corridors. Couldnt open the door when I returned late at night (stayed new years eve). In fairness the guy working there was nice and helpful. I noticed there was a poster advertising a different hostel in Bruges, which seemed odd. Wish I'd gone there.

At the hostel I was met by David, a very nice Belgian gent who was happy to give me info about local goings-on. There were building materials on several floors and he was quick to explain the renovation plans for the place over the coming months. For the price they ask, Lybeer's is good value. And as hostels go its good enough for a kip and a shower. But by Dec 2012 it should be a lot better. If I go back to Bruges, I'd stay there again. Also - Fresh towels on request.

Nice hostel, the location and comfortable living room are definitely a big plus! But it's very noisy, we could hear literally everything our neighbours were doing and saying, so don't forget ear plugs ;) also we had a room with shower but there was no hot water, but we got a refund which was really nice.

The single room en suite was under some refurbishment work, unfinished during my stay. A 'pillow' provided was rubish. The staff were very friendly and informative. The toilet did not have a door. The common area was beautiful.

It wasn't very clean. We paid for an ensuite but we didn't had warm water. For 1 night it was ok. The location is very good and the staff very friendly, but they could have told us that there was no hot water on the second floor...

The staff is really kind and helpfull, the internet connection is not so good, but at least is there. The hostel is really close to the town center but in order to get there you have to go through a narrow dark alley, which doesn't give a good look. But the really bad thing about this hostel is the accommodations. The beds are old and make a lot of noise, the bathrooms are old, not so clean and most of its doors can't completely shut, and the sheets and pillows are old.

The staff is one of the most helpfull and excited we've met in Europe. It has a very cosy atmosphere and great location. Definitely the best place to stay in Bruges!

The shared per-floor showers was very bad: cold, without a wall hook, only 3 showers for the whole hostel which made it very busy in the mornings.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. On Christmas Eve, the manager on duty made a heap of pancakes and told everyone to help themselves. Kitchen not very clean at all, and stairs seem in danger of tumbling down. Shower in our dorm was broken, so we had to use the "shower" in the hall, which was basically a bath with a shower head you had to hold in your hand. Internet is free, but PAINFULLY slow. The common area is quite nice, and the hostel's very central (we had trouble finding it, though).

Excellent staff, Really helpful. I was able to leave my luggage after checking out and go out to see the city. Although there was only one light on my dorm and it was hard to get my things without waking up the other in the room. And one of the locks in one of the doors of the showers was broken. Good value for the breakfast. The Internet wasn't working on one of the computers and the wifi signal was really poor on the reception but really great on the dormitory.
