The Rooms were fine except i had a problem with the lock/key in th room. It was lockable from the inside and outside, meaning you can be locked in the room while you are inside. this is a major health and saftey fire risk. If there was a fire, it would take alot more time to get out of a room having to find a key and then unlock the door or if you were missing one you would be locked in the room with little escape. WHEN THIS WAS MENTIONED TO THE HOSTEL RECEPTION, THEY DID NOT SEEM TO CARE !!
Really nice location, nice staff, and room. I have a great time in Lybeer Travellers' Hostel. But one thing --- I didn't know there is a Kitchen inside before I check out, so I didn't use it.... maybe next time you can inform customers where is the kitchen, shower room, I think it will be a useful information, thank you!
Hard to say as hostel going through renovations and I think it will be great. Good location. Kitchen is tiny and bedroom very cramped and no lockers. Having the kitchen and common room shut after 11pm is annoying . Not much choice in bruge so still recommend it
This hostel is missing essential hostel amenities like lockers. I would stay somewhere else in Brugge
Sleeping rooms are in the midst of being overhauled. I slept in a new room and it was quite lovely, though still needed finishing touches such as towel/coat hooks and curtains. The hostel will close for the month of January to redo the common area, reception and kitchen, and I wouldn't doubt that the prices might go up. Short walk (10 minutes) to the train station and one block behind the start of the shopping street for conveniences, though of course you want to spend more time off beaten path
It would have been nice to know that there was not a bathroom on our floor. When I went upstairs, I was unable to use the one bathroom on that floor because someone was taking a shower and the bathroom was in the room with the shower. It would be better to separate since people can take long showers and a whole floor of people may need to use the restroom. However, I did here from some friends that this was the best hostel in town to stay in and the common area was beautiful.

Great hostel, very centrally located. Only marked down on cleanliness for the shared areas which are still undergoing work. Our room was clean, beautifully presented and very comfortable.

The renovation works really don't get in your way unless you want to sleep in the day so please don't let it put you off. It will look really good when it's all done! The pod type bunk beds are really good - they give you more privacy than standard bunks. The staff are very helpful too.
When the renovations are finished this place will be great but until then the kitchen is not very good and there are not enough bathrooms and only some of the rooms have lockers, outlets and lights. There is also construction noise and mess to deal with. Really good location though.
Although the hostel is under renovation the room we stayed in was beautiful and spacious; we hardly even noticed the mess and noise. It was a little bit annoying that there wasn't a bathroom on our floor. It was a good value for the money and I would definitely recommend this hostel.
Once this hostels has finished the renovations it will be a better hostel, althought their security measures need to be re evaluated, doors do not lock behind you, no lockers and just a normal key to open the front door.
Very nice hostel, its renovation is almost done, so everything is brand new. Be prepared to climb some steep stairs, it's an old historic building, so they cant change it. Very clean, nice bathrooms. They have a nice common area and host beer tastings!
The place is on renovation, so the good thing on that is you can stay in a brand new room, and use the brand new showers and bathrooms. Bad side is toilets are not enough and kitchen is still old and some stuff doesn't work very well. Main entrance door unlocked and no reception overnight I didn't like it, besides the area is very safe.
Hard to judge right now because they're in the middle of renovations, looks good so far. Atmosphere was lacking a bit. I got a free upgrade from a 6or8 bed dorm to a 4 bed room but I was alone in there first night and on top floor so 3 flights of stairs to walk. Free walking tour and beer tasting at the hostel is good. Bruges is small so everything is within walking distance. Wifi great, Gary and worked everywhere. Reception often unattended.
Room was v.clean.Recently refurbished.Blinds/curtains still haven't been fitted!Appeared to be only 3 WC in hostel.WC/shower & a 2nd shower on 3rd floor.Long wait for WC upstairs in the morning/evening.Male/female WC near reception downstairs. There were still queues & it was annoying having to go up/downstairs to check. My room was beside the stairwell.V.noisy at night with people coming back.Aside from that the location was great.I’m sure once the refurbishments are finished it will look well.
Rooms were newly renovated, very clean however they failed to advise that there were ongoing renovations at the hostel so lots mess/live cables all over the place. Other than that it was fantastic location and great rooms for the price.
The hostel was in a really safe area and town which is probably why the doors weren't locked. I felt safe the entire time but I never had to use my key. I also left my phone out charging and my valuables in the room and didn't have a issue. Bruges is small and we walked all around and through didn't need any transportation. The are doing a lot of renovating and it will be really nice when its done.

the facility is under renovation. My room was great and quiet. Not enough toilets in the building but clean. Stairs need work.
This hostel is one of the best I've ever stayed in. Its in a very old building but it was just renovated so the rooms are clean , modern and amazing, You could not have a better location right in the center of Bruges. The staff were amazing very friendly and great people (Siegert!!! your the best!!!) this hostel made my time in Bruges one of the best experiences in my travels. Truly one of the best hostels.
Rooms are really great, really easy to meet people and the hostel owner is really helpful. Highly recommend this place.
