The best parts of this hostel are the staff and the pools. Yes, there are two and one jacuzzi-style. There is always someone at the reception even though they might be sleeping :-) and they were very friendly and helpful. One of our rooms however had a problem with water on the bathroom floor and the other had a broken A/C. We could also find some hair on the floor from the last guests, other than that, everything seemed clean. Location is good and every tuk-tuk driver knew the MD House

It has the potential to be much nicer than it actually is. Pools need cleaning & just some tender loving care to outdoor facilities. Great location though & helpful staff.

We were not issued any breakfast coupon upon check in nor the night before. Even we bought our own breakfast from outside and tried to borrow bowl or plate from them but they refuse to help. Till second day only were were told by the travelling agent whether we had taken breakfast from hotel because we joint their tour trip. This is our first and last trip to this hotel. Our free breakfast suppose to have orange juice but no more stock on the third day .They only give 1 glass of milk

Good place for backpackers. Good value for money. I would recomend it for group of friends or lonely travellers so they can meet people around. Relaxed atmosphere. Space in rooms is fine and seems clean. Good AC. Poor water pressure in bath. Little bit poor breakfast, internet only working in lobby and good pool.

Great guest house. The only negative would be the showers - very light on with water.

This was pretty good for the money. The staff was very helpful. The location is really pretty great for seeing Wats and such. Generally walking distance from the Night Bazar. Also it was nice to have breakfast in the morning and pool if you wanted to take a quick dip after touring the town.

An ok hostel, nothing wrong with it but nothing stood out. WiFi didn't work in half the hostel, some staff could have been friendlier. Clean place but did see a couple of cockroaches. Breakfast good but system could be clearer! However, room was spacious and pool was excellent on a hot day (although sun loungers are limited!).

MD HOTEL was one of the the first one's to come up on hostel world. Definitely not good value for money, after paying 850 bath you will get clean room, with air condition, fridge, tv, wifi, swimming pool, and very laudy wake up call from local streets at about 7:30, and loudy falling asleep, almost impossible. Breakfast included will be enought just for your kids and you can get extra for unreasonable price. Any trips you will find cheaper else where on the streets, house lady will rip youOFF

No facilities at all: we needed a taxi to go to the airport out the receptionist told us we were supposed to search for it for ourselves.

The pool is a great addition to this place for hot days in Chiang Mai or after a long walk. The hotel is well placed too.

We enjoyed our stay here. Right in the old city center, good location! Rooms are clean and spacious. A lot of rooms, that's why it hasn't got a lot of atmosphere, but after a 3 minute walk, your at all the nice restaurants and bars. They also have a tour booking agency, we already had booked our tours elsewhere, but the lady was pretty helpful. A small breakfast is included, which I find a nice feature. Computers available, a nice pool and even a small gym. Overall good value for money.

Bathroom: dead bugs on wall, used toilet paper all on floor, door handle broke Other: trash and hair on floor, 1 double instead of 2 single beds, tried to force me to pay for 1 meal and it had 2 people on the meal card, window did not close and bugs were running around, no cable tv as advertised Reserved for 6 nights and only stayed one; was not properly refunded. NOT AS ADVERTISED!!!

It's a pretty good hostel that even has two swimming pools - that's the first time I saw something like that. Location is very good and the lady at the tour desk speaks very good English and is very helpful. Breakfast was ok, though nothing interesting. The biggest problem is the cleaning service, which is really bad. I spent 9 days there and I had to buy my own toilet paper, because it wasn't replaced. The towels smelled bad and I wasn't able to use them. I don't think I'd stay there again.

We really liked the stay at MD house. Staff was good, at they help with tour arragenment.. Pool was fantastic, and the location was perfect!!! The breakfast was not buffe, the portions was small, and you offent had to wait 30 mins on it, and the, but it tasted good. One morning we woke up, and there have been a break in some other guest room, some girl has pass the receptionist without him noticed..

I didn't actually stay here so I am unable to comment. I wanted to get a message to Hostelworld whom I have been trying to contact for the last week and this was the only way I could think of making contact.

Fantastic, friendly staff!! The food tour organised by the hostel is a must do if youre keen to experience Cambodian culture away from the tourist trail. Fantastic location, walking distance to restaurants and they have tuktuks and a minivan for further travels. The bathrooms are a bit small but all other facilities are great. Great place to stay in Siem Reap!!!!!!

A good place to stay at when you are in Chiang Mai, allthough it feels more like a hotel instead of a hostel. I had a nice and clean room, good internet facilities, and the pools were good as well. The lady who booked all the tours for me is realy fantastic, such energy! She was a great help.
