Location was good close to the Sunday market and night market. Breakfast was a choice from a menu which was really good. Pool was somewhat clean and right in front of the hostel. The room was clean but the shower didn't work. No wifi in the rooms only lobby. The front desk staff were not helpful at all. Tried to make us pay to call a taxi for the airport but I refused. They had no clue what was close by for us to do and didn't try and help. Wouldn't stay here again.

More of a hotel than a hostel with almost everything you can ask for from free breakfast to swimming pools.

Pools were great. Much needed oasis after hot days touring around. Not much of a social outside of the pool area. Great location. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. You're right in the action. Staff could be more helpful.

The swimming pool was not really usable because of the construction site nearby, but all was fine. The rooms are good for the price. The location is great. The staff is very nice.

Much of what was advertised did not exist. And the staff were not slightly interested in helping, being friendly or even making eye contact. Horrible experience. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!

This guest is house is clean, well staffed and exactly as I appears in the photographs. There was nothing I could fault. It is a cheaper establishment offering very good value for money. Airconditioning is very effective, fresh towels daily with quality soaps and shampoos. Free water bubblers in lobby to refill your bottles from saves even more money. Included breakfast is a nice addition and I would recommend any budget conscious traveller stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay at MD house. The staff are very friendly and the free breakfast is great. We stayed 4 nights in total and didn't have any problems. The location of the hostel is great, we walked pretty much everywhere. The only negative would be that there is work currently being done to the building next door so don't expect too much of a lie in!!

Double private room. Room super clean and staff very friendly and willing to help with everything. There is a party zone very close (the zoe yellow bar is one of the crazy one). Fridge in the room and good AC made more easy to handle the hot days. Simple breakfast (omelet, toast and coffee) included and it was very good. It definitely worth the money staying here and we do recommend it.

The room I had was noisy due to being adjacent to the stair well. There were mosquitos in the room and around the hotel. Breakfast was average. Some unknown creature (large frog maybe?) croaked all night long each night.

Stayed a week after volunteering at Elephant nature park, so needed all washing done and good internet etc. This place was perfect, a great base to see Chiang Mai and plan our route through SE Asia and get all of our jobs done. Internet was great and we were on the 3rd floor, I'm fairly sure they have a router per corridor. Breakfast was fairly basic, omelette (just egg) on toast, muesli & yoghurt etc but it was exactly what we wanted. Great a/c the place was like a fridge every tim we came back

On arrival the air-conditioner in room allocated was faulty, staff were prompt to allocate another room.Decent size fridge was a bonus.Room size good, clean.Central to all that we wanted to see & do,easy walking distances to markets, food, bars etc & catered for people of all ages.Very noisy, drunk guests returning at 3am, slamming doors, laughing & shouting, took long time to settle down (not every night) maybe need to address this issue for the sake of other paying guests. Would still recommend.

We had a fantastic stay- at fort we saw a triple room and it looked like a dungeon and we switched to the second floor with one double and one single bed and he room was great. Staff is very accommodating and everything is walking distance from the hotel. The pool is great and you can book day trips through the staff who are very friendly. Will stay again

Nice hostel. Clean and excellent location. Staff is kind and the touroperator is literally in the hostel. Booked some Nice tours there. Breakfast is good! Not really a good environment to meet other travellers though.

The free breakfast was really nice and convenient. The location of this hostel is good, was easy to get around. The pool was a nice treat as it got very hot during the days we were in Chiang Mai. The staff was nice and helpful at all hours of the day. Also, a very cute kitten was around the hostel which was COOL

Right in the backpacker district and has a pool! So that's a good start, not really much of an atmosphere but you can get over that by heading out to the close by bars and Zoe's! Free breakfast is always welcome!

Nice swimmingpool, they make your room clean every day. Safety box with your own locker. Wifi is only working at the reception. You can use computers at the reception. Because there was no bar of common area, there was no interaction with other people. Breakfast was really great, you can choose between 5 dishes.

This is more a cheap hotel than a hostel, great value for money and the staff there are great with helping setup your day trips. Has 2 pools and a hot tub but only one is somewhat clean enough to swim in, but if that's a deal breaker oh well. Located right in the middle of the area you want to be in, walk the extra 2 mins and go check out yellow bar!
