Most bland hostel/hotel I've ever been in Thailand. It's a shame that such a place exists in the north of Thailand where most travellers look for authenticity in its simple form! Only my 2 cents.

Nice place. It felt more like a cheap hotel than a hostel. The price was a bit higher than I'm used to paying in Chiang Mai, but then again it was Songkran and they also didn't once hassle me to buy a tour, like a lot of places in town. Friendly and helpful staff and a location that's very central, but still quiet at night.

very good location, not super clean but comfortable enough. Although the safes in the room are not attached to anything, they were pretty safe. Bring your own padlock though! Overall good place to stay

Centrally located, but still far from all the noise. They have a simple, but fresh breakfast and their own tour agency (with good prices). The twin room was good, confy beds, fridge and AC, but the shower needs work (too thin of a water stream) and they could change de curtains (it gets bright in the room too early in the morning). Overall, a good experience.

Excellent, location and staff. Great room. Only down fall is the very intermittent WiFi/internet. Mostly the Wifi drops out. nternet link may be OK but Wifi isn't. It can drop out 20+ times in 30mins???? If you need fast/reliable internet you may need to go to a cafe. Very close to sites

Very fancy guesthouse compared to other places in Chiang Mai. Free internet room, swimming pool, nice bed and bathroom with soap included, also breakfast included! You get a lot for what you pay for, which seems to be the case in Chaing Mai! Would go there again if i'm not travelling budget :)

Nice place with good location. Friendly staff and helpful lady who booked some tours for us. Water pressure in shower was very low and beds were hard and uncomfortable. Overall was pretty good.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The location was spot on with easy access to loads of cool bars and restuarants. The staff were very helpful, in particular the lady organising the tours who was always there to answer questions, spoke good English and very competitive with price! The breakfast included in the price was a huge bonus as well especially as it runs until 11:30am. Loved having a pool just to chill out around which in quite unusual for a hostel/guest house. Would definitely return!

Breakfast was ok. Room was clean, but the place is huge and has no character. The staff is ok, but not everbody speaks English. It's pretty expensive for what it offers. If you are looking for party however, this might be a good place.

MD House is clean and modern with all that you need for a good stay - free internet (wifi and terminals), helpful staff, a pool, free breakfast and well proportioned rooms. The lady who runs the travel desk is particularly good, seeming to work all hours of the day and happy to help with any query, even if you're not booking anything through her. Breakfast isn't particularly good with very mean portions of muesli, but it's free.

MD house is a very nice place with lots of rooms in an ideal location of Chiang Mai. Tucked away off the main roads yet still a short walk to all the relevant sites, AND with a swimming pool, this is a very nice spot.

I'd rather say this location may pretend to be a hotel: swimming pool, payment (big hotels with the same class of service in the downtown of Chiang Mai offer better deals), fringe and a/c. Personal is polite and helpful. Most of rooms face auto parking which actually doesn't bother at all. It's said the hostel won 3rd prize as a best in Thai in 2009, since then everithing's become a little wear and tear.
