Hostel World only has the most expensive double private rooms advertised. Once you get here, rooms of equal quality (but apparently smaller) are available at a lower price. Staff are very helpful and rooms very clean and peaceful. Excellent free internet facilities.

MD House is a great place to stay in CM. It has a distinctly Thai feel to it and the pool at the front of the guest house is lovely. The staff are so helpful, when we arrived off the overnight bus from Bangkok at 5am the security guard got the owner out of his bed to check us in and let us into our room straight away, so kind. It is not the most social place I have stayed but as you are just a short walk away from all the action it does not matter too much.

Nice hostel, great location and pool a really nice bonus. Only problem we had was booking onward travel to Koh Samui through them. The hostel owner assured us we would have no problem getting sleeper seats on the train in Bangkok, but when we got there all the sleeper seats were taken and our only option was 3rd class seating (not a comfy way to travel for an 11 hour night journey).

The staff was friendly and informative! The guesthouse is very clean. I really enjoyed my stay at MD House.

very much enjoyed our stay here had a lovely peaceful nights stay and the swimming pool was very refreshing after a long day out. The owner was helpful and nice that tours etc were not pushed on to us a good change for chiang mai.

Location excellent everything in walking distance. Booked for one night but ended up staying for 5 nights. Staff friendly and very helpful, I will definitely recommend this to others.

Really enjoyed our stay, fantastic to have a pool to relax by. Room was perfect and Sonny was a great help and extrememly friendly. Would recommend and go again!
