Be warned - this hostel is divided in two and the separate part across the road is a soul-less dive. They didn't provide this info until after we booked (now its up on the booking site). Also, not much chance using the internet over there - WifFi didn't seem to work. Besides that I have to say this place lacked any kind of atmosphere (in either part) and is not very welcoming. 5€ just for a late check out is a bit rich. There is a MUCH better hostel just 200m up the road for not much more money.

The staff was extremely friendly, but not very helpfull when you had any problems. Our room door once appeared widely open, but the staff didn't seem to really care. Also, the cooking plate in the kitchen didn't function, the staffs advice was to boil our pasta with water from the water boiler... But the location was perfect, the rooms convenient.

The only complain is about the internet. They have a paid internet and the free wifi included in price is very slow and have very poor signal all over the hostel. The reception for check-in, check-out and the breakfast (not included in price) is acroos the street. So, be advised if you're arriving with many bagages ;)

A great place to sleep, very organized, clean and silent. The only problem is that the reception is accross the street, so to check in you take a little wile walking around.

Make sure, you are booked in to the main hostel, otherwise you end up on the other side of the river with 300m walking distance to reception , and more importantly no internet!

Owner Comment (Show)
Thank you very much for your comment! Our MEININGER Hotel at Tempelhofer Ufer indeed has no reception service. But in our MEININGER Hotel at Hallesches Ufer which is located on the other riverside the reception is open for 24 hours. And at Tempelhofer Ufer you also have phones on the corridors so one can easily reach us. One can also use the wireless internet in the lobby area at Tempelhofer Ufer for free. The password is provided upon arrival at reception. Kind regards, Your MEININGER Reception Team
