The location was great and the staff were very helpful. The only issue we had during our stay was a very strong eggy smell in our hostel room-there may have been a drainage problem.

Location was really good. As mentioned several times, the internet wasn't the best. However, the neccessary things like planning my trip I was eventually able to do. So if it's basic internet needs then you can put up with it. Lockers and security was great. The staff I found approachable, they were able to answer my questions. Apart from an off putting stain on the mattress, the bed was very comfortable and I had no problems with the bed or shower facilities in the rooms.

A nice, clean hostel near one of the Universities and about a 2 minute walk to a small bar strip, and about a 10-12 minute walk to the cathedral and all the other main attractions. Friendly staff and decent beds. I would stay here again if I revisited Cologne.

Was upgraded to hotel single room, due to overbooking of dorm rooms. So it was a nice surprise. Although it was very noisy at night with people shouting. But would recommend this hostel.

I booked 1 night at this hotel. When I was about to check-in, I've been told that there has been some kind of mistake with my reservation. The hotel assumed the mistake and told me they had reserved one night for me in a similar hotel just next by. Once I arrived to the new hotel, I've been told no reservation has yet been made in my name. So, suddenly I had no hotel to stay. I had to go back and complain to the receptionist. One hour later and after a lot of phone calls, the problem was solved.

The hostel was average until our 3d night of 5, when we were supposed to change rooms but were not aware. We realized what had happened after someone tried to enter our occupied, shared room, and the hostel did not place any blame on us and even placed us in a private free of charge when the other shared rooms were full. Definitely a more hotelish feel to this hostel. Kind of far from major sights, close to nightlife. Rooms are very nice, with TV, but don't expect a charming atmosphere.

It's a very nice place, and if you're interested in getting to know other people, it has a nice atmosphere for that. The shower wasn't that hygenic though, but I think that could be easily overlooked.

Just hated to have to wake up at 10.00 and having to pay 5 euros extra till 13.00 , eveything else was great :) They have a nice reception area to have coffee, and use the internet...etc

you can use the free wifi. BUT Wifi operates 'just really infront of staff desk'. even in the robby, very low speed wifi. can not use in your room. So free wifi is useless. it's not free to use a computer. you have to pay for it. Bed was pretty clean, but linen exchange is self service. Female room's bathroom was so clean, BUT in mix room's bath, very bad smell. there was good kitchen, you can use all for cook. Washing muchine doesn't work well. it's often stopped. uncomfortable.

Bit far from sights and the bathroom was being torn apart in the room I was staying in which is inconvenient. However, really enjoyed the bar area where it was easy to meet other travelers. Breakfast was ok and kitchen could have had more

Very nice staff ; great location close to transport and nice restaurants/bars/shops. Room was a little hot and stuffy ; lockers are small and in the main hallway close to the street entrance, so they didn't feel the safest. Kept my laptop with me at all times. Breakfast was a good, complete buffet; although 4 50 is a little expensive. I packed sandwiches for lunch therefore :)

Thank you for your comment! Our hostel is located in the student-center of Cologne. That means for example, you have just 5 minutes to walk to the "Zülpicher Straße", where a lot of restaurants, clubs & bars are. Around our house, there are a lot of supermarkets, where you can find delicious food. You can cook this food in our guest-kitchen for free. In the bigger dorms (6-bed & 8-bed), we do have lockers in the room. These smaller lockers near to the entrance door are more like a "reserve-locker". But you dont have to be afraid. They are safe =) But if you don't feel safe at all, you can just store your things in our guest-safe. Just come to the reception and ask for it. Of course, this is free of charge!! I hope to see you next time again in Cologne =)

Hey there, Thanks for your feedback!! There is a 25 minutes walking-distance to the famous cathedral of Cologne! You are right, this distance sounds really far. But you have different choices. For example, you can take the tram or bus. So you can reach the center within 15 minutes. If you decide to take the walk into the center, just ask at the reception for an interestening way to get there. For example: It is possible to cross the shopping-streets of Cologne or to take a look at nice museums, which are stationed on the direct way! Our hostel is located in another center of Cologne. We are in the student-district. That means for example, you have just 5 minutes to walk to the "Zülpicher Straße", where a lot of restaurants, clubs & bars are. Around our house, there are a lot of supermarkets, where you can find delicious food. You can cook this food in our guest-kitchen for free. Anyway, I hope that you have had a nice stay in our hostel! See you next time =)
