This is not like a normal hostel. It is in fact a hotel. They were great but they lost my reservation twice and so we ended up paying the weekend rate as opposed to the price i booked online. Not recommended. On the first day of coming we sow that the picture in the Internet site shows some different building. Then we revealed that the toilet is broken and then we had to go to the other side of the river to reception but this didn't help they did not give us other room. The breakfast is horrible and expensive. No public telephone and Internet in the apartments building. In the night we heard the trains and it was very annoying.Not recommended. I stayed in a Meininger in Vienna and it was great. nice people, great staff, very clean and a personal bathroom. In the Vienna location the reception was across the room, the bathroom down the hall and I stayed in a private room. why pay more for less utilities? I still have faith in the Meininger chain though, Berlin just must have been a new hostel with young employees. Very helpful staff. Unfortunately, we didn't get the 10% off the price with Interrail cards, which we did last year...weird. Excellent room, a bit noisy traffic but we slept well. Kreuzberg's restaurants and very nice pubs are quite near. Could be a bit cheaper, but still, great place. Very helpful staff. I was dissapointed that was no fresh fruit available for breakfast that is paid for seperately- Breakfast was generally poor. We liked our stay at the Hostel. It´s very easy to get there by the Metro, just a hundred meters from the entrance! Felt like you got your own apartment, (got an ensuited room). Very nice, clean hostel and good value for money. Not the most central but everything within good walking distance and very close to 2 underground stations. Quite a quiet atmosphere but I would definitely recommend this hostel and would stay again.Very nice, clean hostel and good value for money.
