It is not really a budget hostel.

This hostel is in perfect proximity to the Südbahnhof, but a bit of a way to the city centre. It is located very close to Kepler Station, but takes about 30-40 minutes walk to the best parts of Vienna. Rooms were very clean and staff very friendly

there are a lot of students checking in in groups.not really a good place to meet people.if you prefer somewhere quite, then this is the place. the place is very clean and there is a kitchen in the basement which can be handy. wireless internet is free, but if u dont have a lap top then you have to pay one euro or something. there is a supermarket near by.you have to pay for breakfast for around 3 euros. i think it is cheaper to buy something from the supermarkt and cook breakfast yourself.

It was clean and quite. It is more like an hotel than a hostel. You need money to do everything except sleeping in your room. No free wireless, no kitchen, not permitted to bring any drink inside and drink in the room. Far from city, but 5-10min. to transportation.

There definitely wasn't anything exceptional about Meininger. It was fine. You had to pay for everything... towels, internet, etc., and everything was expensive. The staff was nice though, and it's an easy metro trip to central Vienna.

Clean and secure hostel close to the metro so everything is only a short way away. It has a lot of large groups so not a cosy little backpackers great for a few nights stay.

A very good bargain for 12 euros a night. This is a very large hostel, more like a hotel. Very very close to the U1 line. Overall, had all the basic amenities (wireless downstairs, decent location, kitchen) and if you have a lock, I believe most rooms come with storage lockers. Good for budget travellers, considering Vienna is not that cheap. For a more personal hostel, you may want to consider somewhere else.
