MINGTOWN Hiker International Youth Hostel is centrally located near the Bund and Nanjing Road. Our guests tell us this hostel has 'a great, homely vibe' and 'an activity every night' that 'encourages everyone to meet each other'. The hostel is 'very clean and spacious', with 'a great cafe/lounge area' and 'nice food and good coffee downstairs in the bar'. Welcome to the Mingtown Hiker Hostel, just 5 minutes walk away from The Bund. We are an international HI/YHA youth hostel, with friendly service and a sociable atmosphere.
Receptionist on duty time is 7am to 1am.
We offer Belgium Beer,German Beer and Illy coffee.About Tsingtao Beer, you can buy two and get one more free.
Mingtown Hiker Youth Hostel is conveniently located close to some of Shanghai's most famous places, all within walking distance - such as: The Bund, Nanjing Road shopping street, the People's Square, the Jinmao Tower, the Suzhou River, Yuyuan Gardens, Shanghai Old City and many more. As we are located in the centre of Shanghai, we are within walking distance of the subway, bus stops, banks/ATMs, post office, pharmacy, 24 hour shops and much more.Our hostel is in the backstreets, away from the noisy main roads, in a traditional Shanghai neighborhood. There is plenty of local Shanghai culture to see, with lots of interesting restaurants, snack stalls and street vendors.

We provide different kinds of accommodations to meet the needs of every customer, such as stylish VIP suites, standard double/twin rooms, and a variety of dorm rooms, all at a very fair price. You can find our prices below. We also offer discounts to guests with HI cards. All rooms are equipped with security key card access, hot/cold air conditioning, and WIFI signal. Our dorm rooms are equipped with security lockers, individual lights, and power outlets. Safety deposit boxes are available at reception. We also offer free short-term luggage storage.
Our facilities include:
- Cozy bar/restaurant, with western & Chinese food, large DVD TV, free pool table and bar games, and WIFI internet access
- Relaxing lobby area, with big, comfy sofas, free internet, and WIFI internet access, (no smoking area )

- Helpful English-speaking reception staff

The difference of the two 4 bed dorm is whether it be with a window.

We're only a few minutes' walk from many attractive and famous tour sites. And out of these tour sites, I most recommend the Bund (Wai tan), once the symbol of Shanghai city in 20th century, which has many legends and has been the witness of the great change of this city. It still retains the charming appearance as it was in the early 1900s.
