This hostel was a lot better than I expected. The staff didnt speak much but was always very helpful and friendly. The bedroom and the lavatory were always clean. Moreover, the hostel is very cheap and definitely worth the price. The only flaw is that they dont accept credit cards. However, there are several banks nearby to get cash from.

Good Excellent value and rooms only hold 4. Fridge and microwave available. Good lounge/restaurant area. TV's and washing machines Bad No 24 hour hot water. No soap in the restrooms and, consequently, hardly anyone washes their hands. Pest problem. Beds uncomfortable, even by hostel standards.

The cheap rooms (the ones without windows) could do with better light bulbs, theyre pretty dim and depressing. other than that, it was great, beer was very cheap.

Lobby and restaurant were nice but room smelled terrible. It smelled so strongly of must and mold, I could barely take it. I could also see black mold growing on corner of ceiling.

There were rats in the hostel and they didn't even have soup for you to wash your hands. Don't expect any attentions from the staff, they are polite but not nearly as helpful as they are in other hostels. The really good thing about this place is the location (just 10 minutes walking from the bund), but if you go, plan ahead because if you want to extend your reservation they will not respect the price you reserved with.

This hostel was in a good position and had a nice lounge area and restaurant area. Be the rooms were small and crowded and the hotwater was not on when I wanted it. But overall, a reasonable hostel.

Second stay at this hostel. The beds have become a bit more worn down, but the bathrooms are the cleanest I've seen in China. The common area is great for meeting people (although there weren't many fellow travellers during Chinese New Year) Lockers good, food good. The staff's English is a bit poor but they're very friendly.

Incredible location, about a 30 second walk away from the Bund and five minutes away from East Nanjing Road. Half decent food and drink at the bar, rooms were of a good standard and were great value in relation to the price. Only complaint would be the staff who were quite rude and not very helpful.

The location is excellent, only a few minutes walking to East Nanjing road, Yuyuan and the Bund. It is on a small quiet street, that made us feel very comfortable staying there. The staff was good, helpful and very attentive. We enjoyed sitting in the common room with cosy and relaxing atmosphere. However we're a bit dissatisfied with our room as there was some smell resulted from the leakage on the ceiling and the WiFi was so slow with weak signal

Whole stay in the hostel was very nice. But we didn't like the policy about the reservations. We had international flight form Europe (more then 10h) which was delayed. There was no way we could inform the hostel about delay. When we came, 2h later (policy is to keep the reservation for 1 more hour), our room was already given to someone else. We go other room, lower standard. Never before we face such a policy.

If you want to be near the Bund, this place can't be beat. It's clean, has a great cafe, and is always packed with people. However, this last point can be a bit bothersome; this hostel can occasionally be packed with loud, drunk, scene kids. Nevertheless, the hostel is a perfect place to spend a weekend in Shanghai. We stayed one night in the "luxury room," and the drain in the bathroom smelled like an open sewer; we transferred to a double and it was much nicer. Hot water can be iffy.

Bunkbeds creaked so much I thought it would break or I would fall through them! Breakfast was a little expensive. 4 people in one room was a bit of a squeeze. Showers were good and hot. Staff were pleasant and helpful - allowed us to stay one extra night.
