Perfect location, good atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Compared to hostels in other countries, the tour/bar/club recommendation aspect could still be enhanced a bit! We would definitely come back again!

Like: Warm welcome, friendly staff, I feel like I stay at home. MIR is on central of city and easy to walk to everywhere in St. Petersburg. Dislike: It's on top floor(6th) of the building without elevator. I must spend a lot of energy to carry my luggage to there. Finally: I love MIR. It's a valuable for my money

Great hostel, fun place to stay, right on Nevsky Prospekt perfect for exploring the centre. The staff are really friendly and helpful, thought it was so sweet that they have slippers for inside and raincoats you can borrow! Thanks so much!

Found it a little difficult to find at first but called MIR and staff were most helpfull in directing us. Stayed in a twin en-suite room that was very clean and spaceous. MIR is very central, right on Nevsky Prospekt and comes highly recommended.

This hostel was in a great location and despite the eight floors with no elevator it had a very relaxing and welcoming feel. Some things for the staff to consider would be maps for the city. I had difficulty getting precise directions of how to get around and ended up wasting a lot of time. Also I think they should stipulate an age cut off as I was a lot older than anyone else and felt a bit misplaced. There were also a couple of long term residents in the women's dorm who weren't friendly.

good location, unfortunately, main room is really noisy and hard to sleep if people are in there chatting from midnight to 6m

Great place to stay! Staff was very nice and friendly! Only downside was that our room was a bit of noisy since it was next to the front door and doorbell.

A great place, don't let the dimly light staircase leading to the hostel scare you. Once you get inside the actual hostel premises, it is very cosy and clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful, even bothered to make pancakes in the morning. I would stay there again. The only downside was that the bathroom door in our room wouldn't close properly, but I'm sure they'll get down to fixing it.

We took the room to get some privacy (we could have stayed with couchsurfing hosts for free). When we got to our room at night, we realized the door doesn't lock from the inside, only the outside - hence, no privacy. The staff on call wasn't helpful.
