Good value for money. Bart was a great host, very friendly and really knowledgable & helpful. The location was pretty good, close enough to the Dam Square area but far enough out from the busy / tourist areas. The main down side was the noise - you could hear EVERYTHING from the adjacent rooms, and we had especially noisy neighbours.

Very unique experience being so close to the city but in the seclusion of the houseboat. We loved it!

We only stayed one night, but were impressed with the hostel. The room was indeed small, but it was exactly what we needed: friendly, clean, well located and more affordable than the other private options in Amsterdam. We will definitely try to stay at Noorderzon hostel next time we are in Amsterdam.

Wir waren mit unseren jugendlichen Kindern dort untergebracht, die erst sehr skeptisch waren wegen einer Bootsübernachtung, aber es hat uns allen super toll gefallen. Wir würden sofort wieder auf der Noorderzon übernachten!

Very friendly and helpful staff! We felt very welcome and all of our questions and needs were addressed immediately. The rooms were small, but we were aware of that ahead of time. The security of the boat and our belongings were great. conveniently located very close to the train station. The ONLY complaint was the condensation in the rooms viewhole and bathroom, probably due to the humidity of the room.

Ventilation is the solution to this, but unfortunately a lot of guests keep their windows completely closed during the night. When you leave your windows open there can be ventilation and then there is no humidity.

Very nice hostel, the staff was very friendly. Everything was clean, but the room was really small. The walls were really thin, we could hear our neighbours talk. But there were no partys or anything else, so it was not noisy the whole night. There was no breakfast, but they offered free coffee and tee. The hostel is located quite near the station, the center and a supermarket were not far as well. All in all a nice hostel, think I would stay there again.

It was a lovely place to stay. The owner gave us a map and circled places to go. She also gave us some great suggestions of what time to go to certain places. My only concern was that our room had a porthole that never completely closed, but that was it.

These two young guests were asked to check out at 11.00 hrs. But they remained in their beds. So... who is rude?

It was really interesting experience to stay on a boat! Owners are nice couple. Very small rooms, but there were everything we needed: double bad, shower, towels, soap&shampoo, tea&coffee, etc. Good location - not far from central station. One thing - it's a bit wet in the room... but if you stay only few days it's not a big problem

Hi, when you keep the windows closed there cannot be any ventilation of the rooms. so the solution is to leave the windows open. Even just a bit open is enough to have the neccessary ventilation. then your room will not be wet.

Rooms are very small but what can you expect, its a boat. The wifi is not free at the library, but only €1 so not too bad. Very clean and easy to find. We thought it was a bit closer to everything when we booked but not as close as expected. Takes 20min to walk to the Dam Square so not too bad. Hosts were accomodating but also always there in the common area. Definitely an experience!

Brilliant place to stay in AMSTERDAM! Pretty close to the city centre (10 min walk max) & easy to get to thanks to the instructions given. Cabins are tiny but what can you expect on a boat? Don't bring big pieces of luggage or it'll be hard to go down the steep stairs & fit them in the room. Towels + soap were in the bathroom. Good hot shower. The whole place was spotless because Bart cares a lot about his home! Coffee & tea facilities + Leontien's cake if you're lucky!

This was a great little place to stay in Amsterdam! The couple that lives on the boat were very friendly and informative. They told us everything we needed to know without even having to ask! It's in a great location right near the train station and not far from the Red Light and key attractions in Amsterdam.
