A GREAT guesthouse where the owner went out of his way to make my stay an enjoyable one. Yes it is a little out of town, but nothing a 20 minute walk will not cure or a cheap Tuk Tuk. Tours can be booked from the hostel and the breakfast was very good. The rooms are spacious and the place has real character and is nice and quiet. Just remember for tours, they might pick you up from the Supermarket at the end of the main road. Check your ticket and you wont go wrong. Fantastic stay, thanks

Not very well located, very remote but in residential street. Very good breakfast though.

Had a nice stay here. It's not in the centre of Yogya, but we rented scooters for the duration of our stay so that wasn't an issue for us. If I come to Yogya again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here a second time.

Green Garden provides a great environment to relax and meet other travellers, even in low season. While the hostel may be slightly out of the main Yogya centre, it's in an upmarket estate which minimizes noise from bikes and scooters at night! The staff were great on arrival, helping us book taxis for the evening, recommending places to eat and helping us arrange transport for the next morning. Our room was annoyingly open air, leaving us open to Mosquito attack, but otherwise a great time!!!

The staff was friendly, and the hostel was nice, we had a good time. It is a bit far away from the city center but its an easy taxi ride to get there.

The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. They went to great lengths to help out their guests, to the extent of driving us to one of the main attractions so we wouldn't miss it when there were no taxis! They also upgraded our room and organised a great tour of the temples for us.

This hostel is one of the best I've seen so far. The staff is great, they will help you wherever they can. I did a one-day tour to Borobudur and Prambanan with them which was excellent and not expensive. The hostel is not directly in the center, but instead you get a very safe and quiet area and can enjoy the fresh air. Taking a taxi to the center takes you only 5 minutes...

Amazing house - clean, spacious, and very Indonesian-feeling. Staff is helpful, booked two day-trips for us and helped us order food and find our way around Jogyakarta. Quiet and chill. A bit off the beaten path but cabs are cheap and it definitely avoids the more touristy areas of the city.

Just too far from everything in Jogja - we needed to get a taxi everything we wanted to see anything. There cheap but it's a pain. Fairly nice people who ran the place - very laid back. You get a basic free breakfast too. The upstairs bathroom was closed "for refurbishments" but none went on the 4 days we where there. We had to use the bathroom downstairs and the bath didn't seem to be cleaned once. We had a double room with A/C which was neat but the blanket was too small for 2 people.

I stayed here for only one night, but the personal attention for the guests immediately stood out. The house itself is full of character, and its clean and well kept. The location is a bit out of the way though, and my taxidriver had a difficult time finding it. The area is a residential area where middleclass Indonesians live, so if you go to this hostel you can truly experience what it's like to live among Indonesians. I recommend this one.

Very nice hostel, but quite far from te city center - every time you want to go to the center you have to arrange transport. Other than that it's a great place to stay!!!

Very pleasant hostel built in javanese style. Very quiet. A little bit far from the backpacker quarter. Do not hesitate to use the service of the hostel for your tour to Borobudur or Prembanan. Possible to get a early breakfast in case of early departure.

A wonderful place to stay. It is about twenty minutes walk outside the main town, but this is a blessing as you can escape all the hustle and bustle. There is a very friendly atmosphere at the hostel and it is easy to make friends there. People were going into town together so it was a good place for solo travellers to meet. Excursions can also be arranged and also onward trips to Bali. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
