i booked in advance as their website says free pick up but recieved email from them saying i had to pay. The lighting in the room was very poor. i was there for 11 days and the internet was only available the day before i left. I'm sure they advertise hot water available but there was none. But the staff were friendly

Maa Vaishno is a great little place to stay. You get what you pay for so the room is about as basic as it gets but Dinesh is really knowledgeable, helpful and always up for a bit of a party! If budget is what you're after this place is fantastic. Thank you Dinesh!

Our stay in the hostel was ok thanks to the nice staff but overall we were not really impressed. The rooms are not as clean as you could expect, even by Indian standard. No sink in the bathroom, try to wash your teeth like that... The bed were so hard that I wondered if there was any mattress at all. the food in the restaurant not as tasty as promised. The wi-fi promised is not available all day (only in the evening) and not free as promised. Last the pick up at the station not free either!

A bad example what a management change can make a to guesthouse. Stayed here 1 year ago, was good then but now most things was bad. More dirty, downgrade in room to a room with broken window(lots of moscitos), they offer "free pickup service" from train/buss station but charge 100 rupies for it... more then normal price. You have to pay full price even if you have payed 10% deposit before. Can't recomend this guesthouse for anyone. You can easy find cheaper and a lot better rooms in Varanasi

Really wasn't impressed with my stay at Maa Vaishno. On arrival they'd given away our room so we got shafted to the bug infested attic room, without attached bathroom and no shower. Then when we checked into our new room the sheets were not even changed! It was cheap but I think you can get better in Varanasi if you shop around. Hotel tour was good and convienent but wouldn't stay again.

maa vaishno guest house is a calm oasis in the middle of varanasi. it is low cost and situated on the southern end of the religious ghats nearby the ganges. it's a fine location for starting a boattrip there because the ganges runs in a northward direction and then walking back on the ghats. shortly after monsun time this will not be possible. the staff is very nice, always helpful and the food clean. it takes you 15 min to the city centre. if you have any questions: rayman_iq@gmx.at martin

The room was basic and very dirty, and there was a few mice. They advertised a pick up from the train station but did not mention that it was not free. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
