Great place, friendly people, good value for the dollar and they provide bread and cereal for breakfast. What more could you ask for?

Great hostel and great location, short walk to bars, shops, and tourist attractions. Very secure and never felt like I was unsafe!

I had a great stay at Macgabhainns hostel. Staff was very friendly with me, lots of helpful tips were provdided, and I enjoyed myself. It was fairly loud there, as it was hard to close the doors softly from the outside of them, and my room had an outside window with the street. But I usually expect hostels to be noisy.

We really liked our stay at this hostel. It is a pretty small hostel but with a family-like-athmosphere. The staff was young and friendly and tried to help where they could. Kilkenny is a really cute town and we think worth a visit. We would definitely recommend a stay there.

No hot water in the morning time is absolutely ridiculous and inconvenient. Hot water is only available after 5pm. Fergus and crew were lovely.

I loved staying here! The staff is super helpful and let's you know what to check out in the city. Best bed I stayed in during my trip! It was a cozy hostel, nothing super fancy but perfect for the town. Def plan on finding an excuse to go back.

The hostel feels very much like a cozy little home. Everyone is very friendly and when we arrived we were given briliant recommendations of what to do while in town. We only had a but of time so we found some great pubs and saw the brewery in town. I would recommend this to anyone traveling through! Loved it!

Great, clean hostel. The staff is very helpful and cheerful. It's just near the city center, so it's quite easy to get around. Bathrooms are one per room, very clean. You can also get discounts for a city tour if you mention the hostel. The only thing a bit tricky is getting from the bus stop to the hostel even with their directions. One of the best hostels so far! Highly recommended!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. All rooms, bathrooms etc were very clean, the bedroom was a bit cold at first but the staff switched on the heating as soon as we asked and it heated up quickly.

Just not great vibes from the hostel. Cold and damp. Certainly not our favorite hostel. Maybe clean under the beds. If you have dog allergies, don't stay here as the owner keeps dogs inside.

Lovely place! Located in the city centre, only 2 minutes walk form the pub street. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we got an amazing egg and toast breakfast included! We booked a private room, which was clean, warm and quiet, and the breakfast was just another thing that topped our stay in Kilkenny. Great value for money. We would deffinitely recommend it to everyone!

The stay was absolutely perfect. The hostel is quite charming and the staff is very nice and helpful. The only thing to mention is the cold in all the rooms. There was a heating, but it was quite cold. Everything else was really great. Thanks for this great stay at your hoste
