It was a really great expirience! Very well located, clean, excellent staff specially Andrea and Gloria that always were so kind. We highly suggest this hostel for any activity and plan you want to do at San Gil.

The hostel was pretty, clean, spacious and with a very good location. It wasn't located right in the main square but that's what made it good. It was a couple of blocks away from the main square in a very quiet and tranquil street, surrounded by nice and cheap restaurants. It had a nice patio with a little jacuzzi, it also had an area just for hanging your clothes, which came handy after a day of extreme sports and wet clothes.

The staff at Macondo were very friendly and helpful. They have lots of information about all of the activities in the area and can book anything for you. The jacuzzi tub was awesome to have after a day hydrospeeding or river rafting. The kitchen was decent. The location is good, just a few blocks from the main square but on a peaceful street.

Brilliant hostel - immaculately clean, loads of comfortable communal spaces, even a jacuzzi (!). I especially recommend this for solo travellers as it's got a very social vibe and easy to meet other people

It's lovely here! The staff are helpful with the tours and I really like that they tell you how to catch cheap buses to different activities instead of offering to organize expensive transport. The hostel itself is comfortable, clean, has a well equipped kitchen and a jacuzzi.

Awesome! A well run hostel, great staff and owner. And all the activities are easily organized through the hostel! Loved the 10 person jacuzzi especially in the rain and the common areas. Easy walk to everything. Hot showers were so good wifi was sound. Enjoy your stay!

Very lovely hostel, perfect for a stop over in San Gil. The Owner, Shaun, is amazing and organised a hostel event called Tejo Tuesday which was such a fun locals expereinece, I would have not known about without him. Great time!

Shaun the owner is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. This is a great place to book your activities, the prices are the same as going directly to the activity providers. Kitchen is big enough and there is decent Wi-Fi. Only downside is there are no lockers, which I consider to be a hostel basic.

Fantastic hostel. Aussie owner Sean has the place bursting with help and info about what you can get up to in San Gil. The place itself is really relaxed, much like the town itself. Jacuzzi and hammocks are a great touch in the garden. Absolutely stay here if you're going to San Gil.

Great hostel just a couple blocks away from the main square. Stayed in a private room ensuite which was spacious. Has everything you need in a hostel. You can ask about the different trips and activities and sign up for them. I didn't stay in the dorms so don't know what that's like but the people there seemed pretty cool and respectful. A couple of the staff seemed like they were just the and did not want to be bothered, but were decent nonetheless. Shaun, the owner, was very resourceful !

Macondo is awesome! You can book excusions through the hostel. We went rappelling, white water rafting and mountain biking. Tejo Tuesdays are a lot of fun as well. Great hang out spots and the people working the front desk are super helpful. No lockers to lock up stuff but there are cameras.
