their listed prices are not true. booked a private single room for $5 USD. upon arrival (at 10pm - so too late to change places) found out that my room was actually $22 USD. seemed a bit like a scam to me. staff and cleanliness were fine, but the location is incredibly far from city centre. would not recommend.

To be fair, we were only in the city less than 24 hrs on the off season so the hostel was pretty dead and we lost power that night but only for about an hour. The rooms are nice except for the windows that face into the hallway instead of outside. The patio looked great but wasn't open. Staff was great.

Far from most main sites in the city. There is no door to the dorm or locker for your things either. The saving grace is the super helpful staff.

This place looks like a horror movie. Fluorescent lighting, no towels, walls as thin as paper. I was only here looking for a place to rest my head but it was pretty crappy. Also, we were on the 4th or 5th floor of a walk-up with very heavy luggage. Def won't stay here again- I'd rather cough up the money to stay in a better area/hotel.

A culmination of things left us disappointed. 1/ our room wasn't particularly 'private'; the walls are paper thin with a big window through to a dorm so when lights were turned on or there was noise we were woken. 2/ The vibrant roof bar described was closed both nights we were there and looked as though it had been for a while. 3/ The staff were helpful in organising buses but often reception was unmanned and it felt they were more interested in hanging with friends than helping guests.

When we arrived here we were welcomed by a friendly member of staff, although they didn't have any details of our previously made reservation and there was a bit of confusion over what room we had booked. The room was clean and well sized with the ensuite bathroom that we requested. A previous review mentions about music on the rooftop but there was none while we stayed. The shared areas of the hostel are not so clean, the kitchen was greasy and dirty.

We stayed at mad house for a couple of nights in the 12-bed dorm. Beds are comfortable and clean, dorm was comfortable with the aircon, and the internet was good. The toilets were okay, only one generally worked at any time, Nd they could definitely do with some better ventilation and a daily clean, hot water worked fine although its too hot to need it. Overall a good stay for the price, but since they're the same prices I'd definitely recommend a price, they were much nicer

Nice hostel and staff, but no aircondition, and broken fans.

Had to move rooms, locks sometimes lock you in the washroom, and there was not always toilet paper

Thanks for the great hospitality! Also, I'd like to apologize: one of my travel companions accidentally walked off with a key the morning we left (oops!), but he'll be posting it back when we return home. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Wani, Makara & other staffs were very friendly and helpful! It's one of my very best experience staying in a hostel. Brian was there to make sure evryone would have a pleasant stay. When he opened up rooftop so I could get better access for my wifi (&checked twice whether it's okay up there : ) I just promised to myself to recommend this place to friends back in my hometown. Thanks a lot for making Phnom Penh memorable for me!
