MADRAS HOTEL Tekka is ideally located right in the heart of Little India - a cultural heritage tourist spot of Singapore. Within walking distance to the Bugis train station and the Little India train station and bus stations, it is easily accessible from Serangoon Road via Campbell Lane opposite the Tekka Market or from Jalan Besar via Dunlop Street opposite the Sim Lim Tower. Approximate time to Changi Airport is about 25 minutes and to the shopping belt of Orchard Road takes about 15 minutes.
Little India well known for its numerous North and South Indian restaurants and shops selling a varieties of merchandise is a popular tourist attraction for locals and tourists from all over the world. In recent times, it is also a haven for backpackers. Located less than 3 mins walking distance is the newly revamped Tekka Mall now known as The Verge, a major shopping centre which boasts of a hypermarket merchandising a wide range of products at cheap and affordable prices and a supermarket for your groceries needs. On the lower level is a spacious foodcourt serving a wide range of asian delicacies. Sim Lim Square, a 5 storey centre for electronic and IT products is just 5 mins walk from our Hotel and the popular Mustafa Shopping Centre is about 15 mins walk. Local bus transport is a short walk from the hotel and taxis are available readily in minutes.
MADRAS HOTEL Tekka, established since August 1999 had throughout these years seen it fair share of business and leisure travellers from all over the world. We offer a range of single, double, twin, triple and family rooms with rates that suit the budget of all cost conscious guests. Breakfast is provided on a complimentary basis and self service. It consist of unlimited nos of toasts complete with butter / jam, egg items and fruits. You can also have a choice of various type of coffee or tea from the beverage dispenser. We would very much like to provide our guests with an international buffet spread like those big hotels but then it will make our room rates above the budget range.
Our rooms are fully carpeted with attached hot /cold shower and individual room controlled air-conditioning system. Color television and DVD player is provided in every room for the entertainment of the guests. Local calls and Zone 1511 budget IDD calls can be made directly from the room telephone system. Wi fi internet access is available throughout the hotel for guests with their own laptops, otherwise a complimentary 15 mins of high speed internet usage is available daily for all guests at our internet corner on the lobby floor.
Other essential services such as photocopying, local and oversea fax facilities, self service coin operated launderette, hot / cold drinking water are available at the lobby floor. Additional electrical appliances like the mini bar fridge can be arrange in the room at minimal cost but iron and hairdryer are available free upon request.
For conducted tours, you can approach our in house tour agent - MADRAS TOURS & TRAVEL to handle it, otherwise you can request assistance from the Front Desk in regard to local transport for your outings. Tourist information and reading materials are available at the lobby floor for guests reference. Facilites such as safety lockers for personal items are available at our front desk and baggages storage facilities without charge are available to guests who need to be away for a few days
Our check in time is 1300 hours and check out time is 1200 hours. Early check in on request and availability of rooms will be allowed with a surcharge of S$ 30.00 nett during the period of 0600hrs to 1100 hrs. Late check out on request and availability of rooms will be allowed based on a half day charge. In order to provide those late night arrival guests with a room for the night, we do offer a complimentary midnight rates between the period of 0001 hours to 0600 hours. These rooms are available as when there are free rooms and it is on a walk in basis and not open for reservation.
