Charming and welcomming place in theTaksim area. Very artistic, friendly and easy-going staff, clean bathrooms, thick mattrasses in the dormatory, music evenings and barbeques for all the guests - I enjoyed all that! Good price, walking distance to main tourist attractions! Chok guzel ))
It was very difficult to find the hostel, so you should amend the instructions, and the area was a little scary first, but then we got used to it and enjoyed our stay. It is very close to the shopping street, but you need to take the tram to get to the main sights. The atmosphere is very friendly, there was a real community feeling (which is probably not for everybody). The room is nice and clean, but there should be more bathroom for so many people.
Although the hostel is cheap, it was quite dirty and run-down when I stayed there. Even a Turkish friend from Istanbul told me that he wouldn't consider the neigborhood as being safe. When I arrived I was told that they didn't receive my booking, so the girl at the "reception" (a desk with a laptop in the corner) had to look for a bed. While doing so she was finishing her beer and had another one shortly afterwards. I had to ask twice for sheets and bedlinens. The people there were nice though!
We didn't get even a blanket, only covers at the 1 night, they didn't have enough blanket for everybody. I hardly fell asleep, because i froze. I paid for a bed and a blanket, nevertheless they didn't any compensation, though they didn't deliver the goods. The next day we asked for the blanket to the staff 4 times, until we finally got a blanket!! OMG She is so lazy.....There is no kitchen, only tee pot, no cookstove. they lied. In the morning a cat tore a rat disgusting blooded on the garde..
I`d rate it a 7.5/10, and this because they were doing some renovations on the last floor and there was a bit of dust, but after they will finish, they will be a solid 8. To end the confusion about the location, the street has at its end a police station and police cars
Thank you guys for a wonderful time. You created a great place and i enjoyed being with you a lot! As for the hostel - it looks more as a welcomming hippie family home and you see owner puts lots of soul in it. The facilities of the place are also very good - think matrasses, good equipped bathrooms, nice open area and common space for hanging out with other quests. + perfect location near Istiklal and Taksim square. also the shuttle buses stop nearby.
Nice and chilled place. Still a couple of things that are a work in progress but nothing major. Unfortunately didn't have warm or hot water while there but no biggie (imagine it could be in winter time though). Good chill out lounge area downstairs and a nice outdoor deck area to relax and chat. Price is good too and close to the bus to SAW airport (if taking domestic flight or using Pegasus airlines).
Comparing this hostel to the rest of Hostels I stayed in, I could say the price worth it. It is only few minutes away from Istiklal street. there is a police station right in start of street, where the hostel is located.

Its probably going to be a very nice hostel one day, but currently the bus offers a tacky ride. Just a few things to mention. There is no garden of rooftop area as advertised, only a very small tilled yard invaded by the residing managers. There is no locks on the doors or lockers for keeping your personal stuff. No moscito-nets in the windows either or aircon/fans. On the other hand it is a very cheap place in the middle of a real authentic workingclass neighborhood, very diffrent from istikay
It was obvious that the hostel had only opened that week, as they were still building the place, but I had a superb time here and the staff are all so friendly and helpful, especially the two girls that run the place. Bit of downtown neighbourhood, but it did not overly bother me as I was about a 10 minute walk from Takism. Small basic kitchen at time, but a washing machine and cool terrace (which they mentioned they wanted to turn into a tv terrace), so possibly alot of potential for this place
