I have stayed 3 hostels in Florence and I can say that it's a nice hostel, a recommendable one with a combination of good prices and great location. The staff is helpful and friendly. Also the hostel is clean. The only disadvantage is that they only have 2 bathrooms. So you may need to wait for use.
Very nice hostel. Have a kicthen, location is vey good.
I love staying in the kitchen and enjoyed using wifi as less people than some popular big hostel.
It is just located on the main street pretty close to the Duomo. At first I thought I read from the website there would be breakfast...the staff ware so nice and patient.
The best part about this hostel was its location. Right next to the duomo and near all the cool bars and everything you would want to see in Florence. The hostel itself was nothing too special. There were only 3 bathrooms and 2 showers for every guest (about 30 beds) and the rooms were not super private or secluded. It is a luck of the draw whether or not you get a good room that isn't in the middle of anything. Good vibes at the hostel and decently clean. Would only recommend to rugged traveler
Great location, the man that checked us in quite late at night was super friendly and circled all the good things to do on a map for us. Bathrooms were clean and rooms were big and spacious. Be aware they kick you out between 12-3 to clean the rooms. Not a very big place, so hard to meet people but overall I would recommend.
Like you, we read the reviews about bedbugs and because they weren't dated super recently, assumed the hostel had fixed the problem. Not true. When we got there to check in, no one was actually there. Instead we got a slimy Italian man urging us to stay while he contacted his friend to come over from another hostel he was running. We waited for around 15 minutes, but then a fellow traveler showed us his arms and legs covered in bites, and warned us to get away while we had only lost our deposit.
Excellent location, but dont expect an actual hostel. Its more like an apartment being used as hostel. Things are old and some beds are broken. If you wanna save money and be in the city centre, thats your call. If you have money and want comfort, go somewhere else. The guy in the reception is really helpful and took his time showing all there was to do in the map, cheap places, attractions, really nice of him.
I'm not sure if it was mosquitoes or bedbugs but I stayed here 6 nights and now (the next day after leaving) I am covered in spots and am very itchy/uncomfortable. If you're good at checking for bedbugs and have mosquito repellent, this hostel was great otherwise. The location was perfect!! I was able to see and do everything (a long list) in my time there. Also, the staff (Yuri, especially) was very helpful. He went above and beyond his call of duty and made my stay there. Recommend? Not sure.
Excellent location. We were satisfied but the smell of mattress will stay in our memory for many years... Someone more sensible could have serious difficulties standing it.
Overall, just fine for the price; nothing spectacular though. Would have been nice if there had been 24-hour check-in though (which seems to be standard at most hostels).

Great Location.Even though you have to go up and down the building. It was kind of annoying there is just two bath room but other than that there was good kitchen, good staff. It was definetely worth staying here. Thanks a lot

The true hostel experience. While the workers were nice and meant well, the hostel is definitely rough around the edges. The kitchen is nice, but the bathroom situation (2 bathrooms for the 40 or so people there) is not desirable. Most of the rooms lack doors, so you have to walk through rooms where people are sleeping to get to the bathrooms too. Also the place just looks like a lot of the stuff is really old (like the beds). Good price, great people, just the facilities need a major facelift.
The good: location, chicken (you feel at home) and atmosphere!! Met a lot of people to go out with. The bad: WiFi don't work, is on the 5th floor with NO ELEVATOR!!!! The bunk beds don't have stairs so it can be difficult to get to your bed and it can be very noisy at night
