Booked for 1 night, stayed for 6. Nice social area to meet people and air con in the rooms at night which is a must in Cartagena. The staff are all fantastic and are happy to help in any way. Stayed in a 10 bed dorm which had an ensuite but never had trouble getting to the shower. In a nice quiet area of the old city but only a five mintute walk to the bars in Media Luna

Beds are ok, WiFi works in common area, not in most rooms, only two bathrooms, small kitchen (not well equiped), staff is friendly. While I was very enthusiastic at first, my opinion changed very much during my stay. I had to switch rooms and while I was promised a discount, in the end it turned out I had to pay full price. Lockers are very small. When you want to storage your luggage you have to pay $2000 a day, which is a lot. Up front we were told it was for the entire period.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff- always chatty and full of advice. Decent kitchen. We stayed in both a dorm and a double room. The dorms had a good amount of space and the aircon was ok. The double room was great. The hostel could do with a couple of more bathrooms. Location is fantastic right in the old town. Nice balcony and good size common area.

Stay here! I had a great experience at Makako. It is clean, the staff is AWESOME (thanks Sarah and Constansa for your help and for making my stay great:), they give you coffee in the morning, they speak great english, they have lockers, they help you with transport and trips, it is clean, the common room is really nice. The whole area with the kitchen, common room, reception and balconies is very nice and makes it easy to meet people and be social. I would definitely stay here again:)

Thank you to all the staff and the manager members for helping me to get back my lost luggage at the airport, friendly staff and very clean place , very well located and always with a smile while they are giving you tips . Nice living room with air con. Alex during the night could help you by planing your nights out. Near to everything and located ( at least to me) in the safest area inside the historical area. Very powerful wi fi.

Jeny was a great host for us, and if you're nice she will teach you spanish. Hostel is nice a calm, and a great place to meet people. Definitely not a party hostel, but centrally located and clean.

I stayed for one night, and was all good. It was pretty quiet during the day, a little partying at night. The staff were all really friendly. Only down-side: you have to bring you own lock for storage and the lockers are pretty small (too small for my laptop).

Great location but facilities are really poor and bathrooms are dirty. Big tv with lots of movies is great!

Sweet location, good chill out space. Yep not quite enough bathrooms but just be organized or up early and you will be all good.

There was not enough air circulation. The enviroment was very hot all the time and the A.C. only worked from 8pm to 11am...You can not stay in the hostel at day because of the heat!

The location and the staff are the best! It is right in the center of Cartagena and the staff are very nice and helpful! The common areas are also nice, with a very comfy living room, the kitchen, a computer with internet for those (like me) who travel without laptop! The rooms are basic, nothing very special, anyway my overall opinion about the hostel is good and I will come back there!
