Marie and her helpers were amazing, accommodating hosts and it was a pleasure to stay with them. My bf and I were in a private room in a shared apartment with its own full kitchen, living room, and BBQ out back. The hostel is located right on the edge of the Makiki Valley State Recreation Area with great hiking trails through the jungle, but it's a bit far from downtown/Waikiki. You can catch a bus from 4-5 blocks away and get downtown in about 20 minutes.
