Great location - not too far from city center/train station No bathroom in the room. On the main level there is a single toilet by reception, the dorm style bathrooms are on the second floor. So not really ideal. The rooms had a regular key (not electronic card) - no one ever seemed to lock the door behind them. And the in room lockers were quite small and wobbly

Fantastic hostel, great staff who were all super helpful and friendly. Only downside is that it is not the cleanest of hostels that I have stayed at, but it is still perfectly fine and a fantastic place to stay! :)

I was very pleased. Friendly people, breakfast, quiet despite the pub downstairs where you get fifty procent discount on food! Yepee! In Edinburgh this is my hostel now.

The hostel was not too far from castle, wasn't too difficult to find it. The staff was nice. The food was good. What I didn't like: all bed were scroopy. My bed was really uncomfortable and is also was dirty. There was a hollow in it. So sleeping there wasn't good. You could close your things in cupboard, if you had your own locker. The towel was 2 pound.

I stayed here in a 12 bed mixed dorm for two nights. Location was perfect, walking distance to every place I wanted to go. Room was not the cleanest I've seen and the bed was semi comfortable. The breakfast was pretty basic but enough. Nice showers.

Location was ideal, staff was very friendly, facilities were nice, and drink discount was great. It was nearly impossible to sit down to eat at the pub though, since it was St. Paddy's Day weekend and the bar was always very crowded.

Great place. The staff are so nice and friendly and it's right near the university so you never have to walk far. The place itself is so homely but the only common area, the kitchen, closed at 10. The bar downstairs was also really nice and the 50% off food was good.

The beds have some serious sagging going on and the "lockers" leave much to be desired. Time to invest in slats for the beds and a locker that actually locks (and is a bit bigger)
