Mama Naxi`s Guesthouse Reviews

Mama Naxi is a sweet lady who runs an amazing guesthouse. While staying here you get the genuine feeling that you're actually staying at someones house. Don't forget to partake in the family dinner. While not only very cheap it has been one of the most delicious meals we've had during our time in China. They offer train and bus ticket booking services and daily trips to the Tiger Leaping Gorge and more.

Nice place. Would go there again. No complaints at all. Mama and Papa and all the staff are very nice!

The people is great! They try to make you feel like home...Excellent place to stay, close to everything... And the honey bread is awesome!!!

The staff are excellent and so is the food. Everything went well and once you get your bearings it is easy to find both locations. Only thing: the doors to the bathroom in the twin room didn't close properly: a little awkward... Otherwise great.

Mama Naxi's was a great place to meet other travellers, especially at the family dinner every night. I was able to join up with other travellers in Mama Naxi's to do the Tiger Leaping Gorge trek which was greatt and mama's can sort you out with bus to start of trek. The dorm rooms like many others in this part of china are basic but do come with electric blanket and shelving for your gear which was good.

Nice place to stay in Lijiang! Great location in the heart of the ancient town, very nice and helpful staff and the food is very tasty and value for money! We will definitely stay here again if we'd go back to Lijiang!

The staff were amazing. They spoke English very well and were very knowledgeable and accommodating for tourists. The location was excellent, right in the middle of the old town, which has a lot of character, shops and restaurants. We could only stay one night with Mama Naxi and had to find another place to stay due to availability but we still went back to Mama Naxi's for breakfast and more advice about Lijiang.

Mama naxi is wonderful and hilarious. There is a guy at the counter who speaks good English and he was incredibly helpful for us...even after we had left Lijiang. Can't thank him enough! Might take a little while to find the hostel (as it would for any accommodation in Lijiang old town), but just keep asking around if you don't have a phone and you'll make it there! Totally worth it. The family dinner was inexpensive and delicious. Met lots of other nice people there.

I loved everything about mam naxi guesthouse , the location, the awesome room and highly recommend . The price was great and the hosts gave their guests the freedom and loooked them.. Thanks you for making my time so great !!! Lijiang is a special place and stay at mama naxi's. You will be happy there!

The staff was very helpful in organizing out tiger leaping gorge trip. The family dinner was delicious. The location was close to everything but difficult to get to, I recommend airport pickup. Hot water was shakey at first, but you just have to let it run a bit. Goid english. Overall I thought it was pleasant.

This was a lovely place to stay right in the old town. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Mama was constantly giving us bananas and tea. They do a traditional family dinner which is a great way to taste local food and to meet other travellers. 4 bed dorm was good but the lock on the door was a padlock which was a bit unusual. There are not really any lockers and the place is a bit difficult to find but apart from that it was excellent and I would definitely stay here again.

I love it all things in Mama Naxi!!

The staff was really helpful in general and arranging the bus to the tiger leaping gorge. They store your backpacks for free while you're on the trail. Really like all the wood in the rooms and the courtyard. Heard that Mama Naxi's dinner is really great!

Mama is a kind lady and know how to take care of us.

My friend came back home with a Chinese girl, but Mama didn't let him in. What a pity..

Some rooms are renovated and are much better than the older rooms. Join the family dinner if you like to meet other travellers.

Hostel is in a great location, in the centre of old town , no point in staying in new town. Hostel patio and gardens were stunning, however dorm I stayed in was really cramped,it should have been a four bed , not six bed. Mamas evening meals were delicious but the general customer service was a little weird and rude at times. Buses to tiger gorge were good value but booking plane and train was a bit overpriced and they seemed to give prices randomly... Mixed review with place ....

Definitely stay here- the staff and Mama Naxi are very friendly, speak excellent English and are always willing to help you with any problems and give advice. Great for meeting people and Mama Naxi is always giving you sweet cakes and she cooks an excellent dinner.
