Location is great - in the middle of the old town, and in a nice, relatively quiet part, as opposed to the crowded noisy areas. One small downside is that it's hard to get to especially with lots of luggage, although they provide pickup. Cute rooms, appreciated the towels, comfortable beds. Cute courtyards. Only unpleasant part of stay was battling with mosquitoes at night. Mama Naxi and her staff are warm and very helpful. They spent time to come up with an affordable tour to meet our needs.

What a wonderful stay! The staff were so patient and helpful during our time there. The rooms were comfortable, the loction was close to everything but quiet at night. Best meal we had in Lijiang was the Family syle dinner at Mama Naxi hands down. Great value.

Coming home to mama naxi's communal dinner is one of the best of my LJ trip. Also, the rooms are well decorated, clean and with towels, shampoo and shower gel provided. I especially love how they help to provide transport arrangements to attractions. In fact, they charter mini bus services to tiger leaping gorge, jade snow mountain and even lugu lake. Definitely make my travels a lot easier!

Mama Naxi's No. 1 was clean and quiet. We didn't spend much time there, but were very happy with the time we did spend.

Lijiang old town is a big maze and this hostel was the most difficult ever to find. Dorms are small and don't have a locker. The girl from the reception was very friendly and gave a lot of good information. The hostel is in a very nice building, family dinners cost 25 rmb, 20 rmb would be a better price.

Mama is fantastic and takes wonderful care of you. Try the family dinner, it' s great value for money and delicious! Bathrooms are very clean, only small drawback toilet paper provided would be nice, otherwise a perfect choice!

Mama Naxi is a sweet lady who runs an amazing guesthouse. While staying here you get the genuine feeling that you're actually staying at someones house. Don't forget to partake in the family dinner. While not only very cheap it has been one of the most delicious meals we've had during our time in China. They offer train and bus ticket booking services and daily trips to the Tiger Leaping Gorge and more.

The people is great! They try to make you feel like home...Excellent place to stay, close to everything... And the honey bread is awesome!!!

Mama Naxi's was a great place to meet other travellers, especially at the family dinner every night. I was able to join up with other travellers in Mama Naxi's to do the Tiger Leaping Gorge trek which was greatt and mama's can sort you out with bus to start of trek. The dorm rooms like many others in this part of china are basic but do come with electric blanket and shelving for your gear which was good.

The staff are excellent and so is the food. Everything went well and once you get your bearings it is easy to find both locations. Only thing: the doors to the bathroom in the twin room didn't close properly: a little awkward... Otherwise great.

Nice place to stay in Lijiang! Great location in the heart of the ancient town, very nice and helpful staff and the food is very tasty and value for money! We will definitely stay here again if we'd go back to Lijiang!

We stayed here for a couple of nights on either side of hiking the gorge. They were very helpful in setting up our trip to tiger leaping gorge and allowed us to keep our luggage there. The beds were comfortable, and after we figured out how to use it - the water was hot. We also had the family dinner which was delicious, affordable, and a great way to meet other travelers. The location is pretty tricky to find, especially if you try to wander through the main part of town and walk back.

The staff were amazing. They spoke English very well and were very knowledgeable and accommodating for tourists. The location was excellent, right in the middle of the old town, which has a lot of character, shops and restaurants. We could only stay one night with Mama Naxi and had to find another place to stay due to availability but we still went back to Mama Naxi's for breakfast and more advice about Lijiang.

I loved everything about mam naxi guesthouse , the location, the awesome room and highly recommend . The price was great and the hosts gave their guests the freedom and loooked them.. Thanks you for making my time so great !!! Lijiang is a special place and stay at mama naxi's. You will be happy there!

Mama naxi is wonderful and hilarious. There is a guy at the counter who speaks good English and he was incredibly helpful for us...even after we had left Lijiang. Can't thank him enough! Might take a little while to find the hostel (as it would for any accommodation in Lijiang old town), but just keep asking around if you don't have a phone and you'll make it there! Totally worth it. The family dinner was inexpensive and delicious. Met lots of other nice people there.

The Mama of Mama Nanxi,s behaves as your real mama: good and excelent dinner for a few money, and when you go in and out will give you something to eat. Thanks. Besides they have renew the hostel.

The staff was very helpful in organizing out tiger leaping gorge trip. The family dinner was delicious. The location was close to everything but difficult to get to, I recommend airport pickup. Hot water was shakey at first, but you just have to let it run a bit. Goid english. Overall I thought it was pleasant.

This was a lovely place to stay right in the old town. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Mama was constantly giving us bananas and tea. They do a traditional family dinner which is a great way to taste local food and to meet other travellers. 4 bed dorm was good but the lock on the door was a padlock which was a bit unusual. There are not really any lockers and the place is a bit difficult to find but apart from that it was excellent and I would definitely stay here again.
