Familiar atmosphere, Mama Naxi is very eager to introduce all the travellers to each other and offers tea, extremly helpful staff, I lost my phone and it was found and sent back to me, thanks again for that!!!

The hostel (Mama Naxi 3) is undergoing renovations, so it was a bit chaotic, but It looks already quite promising. Everything revolves around Mama Naxi, who despite her age doesn't delegate and wants to do everything. She is a good woman, however she doesn't seem to value the constructive criticism. The first night, while we were checking in and drinking a cup of tea with her, a guest complained about I don't know what, and to our astonishment, Mama Naxi started yelling at her. Embarrasing.

Totally chaotic during the re-construction. Not even a reception. Impossible to get helpful english information from Mama Naxi. Not again.

I enjoyed staying here emmensly. The staff were very freindly and accomodating. Very homely atmoshphere. I particulalry enjoy the family dinner every night, a really nice touch. Would recommend it to anyone spending time in Lijiant

Our stay at Mama Naxi's was an excellent one. It's located within the Old Town but seems perfectly situated from both the bustle of the centre and the exits to the city. We stayed with Mama for just over a week and we're absolutely pleased with the service. We received all the help required for our travel plans within the area. Upon our arrival we were immediately given tea and bananas, just as we had read. The room was comfortable and overlooked the courtyard, and the evening meals were a joy.
