Great place to stay! hard to find at the begining but easy once you get used to the narrow streets of the Old Lijian. Mama is the best! She gave us bananas and delicious mini bread! and don't miss the family dinner, it will be worth 20 kuai! in January it's cold and there is not heating, only in the common room and electric blankets but it is ok!

We booked 8bed dorm - ended up in a room for 7, which obviously wasn't ment to be a room for guest, because there was no space to put our stuff. Through our "room" people were getting to another room. Just tiny tiny lockers (without locks) and doors couldn't be closed properly(so it was quite cold) - nor locked. Only with a padlock from the outside... No toilet paper, no reading light in the room. The staff was quite nice, breakfast was decent, internet very fast, common area was cosy and nice.

Awesome hostel in great location (central in old town, but quiet enough to relax and sleep). The staff is very accomodating and helpful (mama Naxi is a little bit loud but like a real "mama" to all of the guests). It's a little hard to find. You should just let the taxi driver take you to the entrance of old town (we just showed him the address of mama naxi) and there use the driver's cellphone to call mama naxi. Rooms (we had a double) were very nice and had electric blankets to keep you warm.

Our private room was spacious and very comfortable. The family dinners are great. Really good food, as much as you can eat for 20 yuan per person. You won't find a better meal in Lijiang for that price. Some of the staff may seem rude at first but give them a chance, they'll warm up to you a bit. Mama Naxi is very nice. The family environment at the hostel is a nice experience.

A very charming hostel, close to Sifang Jie, which is the center of 'action' in Lijiang, but far enough to guarantee a qiet night. Make sure to show up at the family dinner! Mama Naxi knows your face, you will be reminded to attend if you dare to miss it one evening (and it would be a pity to miss all that amazing food and the chance to meet all the other guests). Facilities and rooms are clean. Not all family members are fluent in English but you will be understood. The atmosphere is great!

Love the communal dinner!! For 20 yuan..the dishes were aplenty and sumptuous. Rooms and toilet were decent. Location is perfect. Our only gripe was the smell emitted from the reception area, its a weird smell one gets all over lijiang old town.

I think the hostel was great, people were really nice and helpful. The hostel is always clean, very cozy and confortable. Internet worked pretty well. The only "downside" was there were no handy plugs near the sofas in the common room to keep the laptop running while I worked, I think some multi-plug adapter somewhere could solve that problem.

Overall a nice place, though I only got to stay one night, Mama still managed to slip me some free bread. The bunks were sturdy, had a shelf to put charging electronics, and had an electric blanket.
