Best hostel ever! Didn't feel like a hostel, more like you were staying at somebody's very cool place. The dorm, though 8 beds, was seperated into 4 groups of two beds so you had bit of privacy while still being part of a dorm. Great shared spaces, amazing decore, lovely staff and even a nice little book exchange to top things off. Will definitely stay here again!

Very nicely designed hostel. The only downside was that the common rooms are right next to the bed, so it's difficult to chat in the common room if people are sleeping. Otherwise, I had a really great stay!

Mandala Hostel felt like home from the moment we stepped in, took off our shoes and put on slippers from the pile by the door. Everyone at the hostel was nice and laid back. The peaceful environment and use of guitar was just what we needed after months of traveling. There were even two adorable cat residents. The folks at the hostel pointed us to the best bars, restaurants and baths in Budapest, and even briefed us on the city's history. This was the best hostel we've stayed in. Thank you.

Excellent place that feels like home. Very nicely decorated and the staff is wonderful and friendly. Everyone just walks around and chills. So many different people from different places work there! I would definitely go there again. It's great to be there if you are not traveling with a group too! We watched movies and shows together one night! And everyone hangs out and utilizes the kitchen. The cats are cute too and I don't usually like cats.

Hot showers, clean toilet, very homely. Lovely kitchen, internet was working, brilliant place, right near Kalvin ter. thank you to Peter for making us welcome and being so helpful.

Great location, like staying in someone's apartment. Owners are very relaxed and friendly. A little bit noisy in the room as the loft areas squeak badly. If you are staying in the larger room, people have to go through this room to get to the other. Only down side is the common lounge area is actually in the large dorm room, so not good for those that want to sleep. But really great place for meeting other travellers because it is small.

Mandala is really homely and welcoming, and very social. The dorm rooms look amazing. I was in a room by the kitchen but it was very quiet and I slept really well. the staff were very friendly and helpful, and gave brilliant tips on local entertainment and food as well as being very social - group meals, going out for drinks, sitting around and chatting, watching DVDs. I met a great range of people, and loved staying there. Superb location!

A nice and cosy little place, which makes you feel right at home. The common areas and kitchen are very open so it's easy to mingle with fellow travellers and the friendly staff. Other than that there's not a whole lot to do there. The shower seems very temperamental though and oscillates from hot to cold very quickly, which is quite annoying. Other than that, no dramas.

The sheets they provide don't cover the whole bed and the mattress covers aren't washed on any kind of regular basis. Pillows are also very uncomfortable (mine was a throw cushion). Can be quite difficult to find a staff member, especially one who knows much as they're mostly short-term volunteers. Nice, small environment though. Probably wouldn't stay again.

Mandala didn't feel like a hostel. I felt like a guest staying with friends. This is not a party hostel, but if you're looking for a quiet and friendly place, you won't find better.

It's a beautiful little hostel. The perfect size, really comfortable and really really relaxed. One could probably say that the manager is at times a little too relaxed, not that it effected me - but I did notice one older gentlemen getting prety annoyed about the laid back attitude..I loved it though! Really homely place to stay, in a great part of the city. Would go back there for sure.

Great location, everything you need on doorstep and easy tram links to more or less everywhere you'd want to go. Hostel itself is one of the best i've stayed in- free internet, tea and coffee, friendly staff. After travelling for a long while it was good to find such a homely place. Budapest is an amazing city- i extended my stay to see more of it.
