Definitely recommend this place, everyone is really lovely and it has a great relaxed atmosphere.

I do not recommend Mandala. No privacy at all (it's really a flat), the staff is unkempt. They are very unorganized and didn't ask for payment when we checked in. Be aware - you have to pay in cash. The area to hang out is in the main bed room which was very uncomfortable since the employees used it with no regard to the guests. Also, they were all sort of hanging on each other and touching each other. You really do not get what you pay for and the kitchen looks disgusting.

I loved my stay in Mandala hostel, the athmosphere is very relaxed and cosy, the staff helpful, and the location is great!

Brilliant place, I can't fault it.

We took the double bed private, the room was absolutely amazing. The staff was very helpful and kind when we had questions, and the location is right in the center but without any noise because it is not a main street.

If I would ever come back to Budapest, which is quite likely, and I have no place of my own, there won't be even a second of thinking which hostel to go to. This is the place

I've been travelling for five months now and mandala hostel is by far the best hostel I have stayed in. the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, at home and see to it that you enjoy your time in Budapest. the hostel itself is really cute, a great kitchen, clean new bathrooms and really comfortable beds! I can't speak highly enough about it.

I went with 2 more friends (all 30's) and we had very good time with the people at the hostel. I felt I was at home of some friends I've never meet before :) Everyone was very kind and helpful. They even join the group and we went all out at night. Is the perfect atmosphere for backpackers travellers and excellent value for the money. The toilets were always clean too! I'll stay again at this hostel!

The owner of the hostel let her friends and family stay there for free! I paid for a 6 bed dorm but apart from us 6 there were actually 2 more of her friends sleeping on the sofa, using the bathroom etc. These 2 people were sleeping the whole day long which made it impossible to have a normal conversation in the room and you felt the need to whisper to each other all the time. Otherwise it was a nice and cozy hostel with a good location. Frendly staff and a plus for the hostel cat!

Couldn't have been happier with my stay at Mandala, loved the atmosphere and people, location was also excellent. Would recommend the place to anyone looking for a relaxed, out of the ordinary stay in Budapest, the character of the hostel and the people really made me feel at home.

very nice hostel and a very familiar atmosphere, best to meet nice people! Contra: one doorm is an "Durchgangszimmer" (leads to the other doorm)

Was a little scared of this place at first, since its more like an apartment than other hostals we were used to. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and this place turned out to be one of the most unique. Clean. If you want something different, definitely stay here.

A great experience!

Absolutely goregeous room, great staff and nice family next door. They where so frindly and kind and the room was a jugendstil-dream - felt like living in a palace! We`ll definitely come back!
