It is the hostel which is different from normal hostel...just like stay at a friend's home style. They got shoe taken off policy...which make you feel like home. But I expect they provide clean slippers for the people stayed there. Sometimes I feel quite smelly at the entrance.

very nice atmosphere, friendly and cosy. I felt like I stayed over to a friend's place, along with his/her other friends! It's a very good option for solo travelers like I was at that time. Location perfect, quite clean, friendly people to welcome you.

Este hostal, es en realidad un piso! Y la recepción es la cocina, sentí que podría haber pagado menos por estar ahí.

Mandala allows for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Budapest. The staff is incredible, in that they are willing to discuss anything at anytime and genuinely do their best to keep things clean and safe. The hostel itself has a homelike feel that enables one to walk around freely and comfortably, without shoes. It may strike a person as a strange at first, but the staff quickly allows one to feel right at home. If you are going to Budapest at any point and for however long, stay at Mandala

Great staff, and great, relaxing atmosphere and decor. Bed facilities are nice. Bathrooms could be a bit nicer, but are just fine. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs, as the doors are creaky. I would definitely return!

A pretty cool place to stay - good location. Close to public transport etc. A very helpful introduction to Budapest on arrival. Main room was also a bit of a lounge aswel so had to deal with people (incl staff) hanging out there late while we were trying to sleep - they did move when we asked though. Shower was broken, but it was fixed while we were there - good stuff. Nice place to chill out.

The hostel really has a character. We had »double bed, private, in suite« and the room was excellent – it is perfect for some art history buff because it has vintage furniture, pictures, ornaments – perfect, something totally different – we most definitely recommend the hostel. It is something else. The staff is very sweet and helpful. Great location, we could walk to everywhere. Worth every cent:)

Best hostel ever! Didn't feel like a hostel, more like you were staying at somebody's very cool place. The dorm, though 8 beds, was seperated into 4 groups of two beds so you had bit of privacy while still being part of a dorm. Great shared spaces, amazing decore, lovely staff and even a nice little book exchange to top things off. Will definitely stay here again!

Toilets could be a little more airy, and with better lights in.

We booked a private room with a bath for a couple and a separate bed for myself in the dorm. The dorm part was noisy as both the floor and the doors were incredibly creaky and old. Bring your own pillow. The private room as really nice and spacious and definitely worth the extra money.

Very nicely designed hostel. The only downside was that the common rooms are right next to the bed, so it's difficult to chat in the common room if people are sleeping. Otherwise, I had a really great stay!

Mandala Hostel felt like home from the moment we stepped in, took off our shoes and put on slippers from the pile by the door. Everyone at the hostel was nice and laid back. The peaceful environment and use of guitar was just what we needed after months of traveling. There were even two adorable cat residents. The folks at the hostel pointed us to the best bars, restaurants and baths in Budapest, and even briefed us on the city's history. This was the best hostel we've stayed in. Thank you.
