Hostel is away from the centre, so one would think isn't that loud but in the mornings if you are in a room next to the street the window it's next to it , plus drunk hostelers can be a bit noisy when they arrive. Great kitchen, it has a fusbal, pool, BBQ, ping pong. Lockers. Next to a mall with a supermarket in it.
I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm and the room was extremely small. It was difficult to move around when the room was full. The lockers were very spacious and fit both my backpack and luggage. Rare to find this. Roommates made the situation miserable. Came back at 3 and 4 am, and one brought back a boy to sleep with her. If you like having your space, may want to look elsewhere.
Very friendly staff, great common room and kitchen. The atmosphere is good, but the room needed a bit of attention, our bathroom shower had no door, and the bathroom door didn't shut
nice place good frendly staff, added a few nights, better than last hostel in Budapest. .!
Brilliant hostel, we had a very nice twin private room, felt very safe, brilliant facilities including kitchen, games room/lounge and table tennis table outside.
So nice the rooms were clean really good lockers that fitted my massive rucksack. The courtyard is really nice and has a cool pool table and common room. Staff are all really friendly it's a short walk to main places like szimpla bar etc. kitchen facilities were amazing they had everything!
Loved the feel of this hostel, was very chilled with a great outdoor area that is great for socialising. Also has a great kitchen if you are on a budget and can't afford to eat out.
Really nice people, incredible kitchen!!! Reception staff were nice and helpful which is always good
Mandarin is one of those rather rare hostels where you wanna stay not for night only but for having some fun among other visitors or people you're traveling with: ping pong, pool, kicker - the place captures you whenever you try to get out. ;) Room was clean enough, beds are quite big and comfy. Shower is fine as well as the kitchen. The place is not too central but absolutely easily reachable and we never used any transport to get from there to the city center (about 25 min walk).
We enjoyed our stay at this hostel. We initially thought that we were really out of the way from the city centre, but then we realised that Budapest is absolutely huge, and that the hostel is located in a fantastic area for public transport. The hostel was clean, albeit very basic, and the facilities, especially in the kitchen, were great. There wasn't a party atmosphere in particular, but we were very lucky to be put in a room with some fantastic people who made our stay in Budapest memorable.
Good location. Stuff friendly, specially the owner. Other employees are less useful. Maybe some more info about the city or transportation etc at the beginning would be nice; not just pushing a map into your hands. The terrace is great. Locker are secured and it's very close to Corvin shopping moll and metro and tram lines.
Good location just outside the city. Need to get around by train or metro but was close to the station. Staff friendly and helpful getting to the station and he was always smiling and saying hello.

A fair walk to the Center but doable if you don't mind walking. Not much for atmosphere but the common areas have potential with a good group of people. Wifi and kitchen were nice, bathrooms could be cleaner. And it would be really nice if under the beds were cleaned as well instead of just around them. The staff is very nice but not always the most helpful. Overall a decent stay for a couple days, definitely worth what you payed for.
The wifi only works outside, on the balcony or say in reception which is annoying, and it isn't that clean, the bathrooms are a bit gross but if you just wear flip flops you should be fine. Found it an awkward place to get home to after a night out, especially because it's a little out the way from the main road, but really close to the team and the metro. The atmosphere was chilled but maybe not as friendly as other hostels, but it was awesome to have a courtyard with table tennis and a BBQ!
It was reasonable cost and stay for budget travelers

Little bit cramped but clean. Wifi was intermittent. Location was good without being in the centre of town
Good locations, shops&cafes&metro near by. Clean rooms.
I enjoyed my stay at Mandarin Hostel because of its central location and nice facilities. The hostel has a good atmosphere because lots of young travelers stay there and the common room is a great place to hang out and meet people. However, the aspects of my stay that I didn't like as much were the poor Wifi connection and some negative experiences with staff members. While some staff members were nice, others were blatantly rude. Also, the bathrooms were not cleaned during my stay.
This place is great. Great staff, great service, and the interior is very nicely decorated. Good value for your money!
