as usual custumer of Ilha grande nothing different, Mariana is the difference she is great
friendly english speaking staff, clean and nice rooms, after check out you can still leave you bags there and come back and have shower or use the bathroom, we enjoyed our stay at this hostel
This hostel is damaging to the ipanema branch, as it bears no resemblance to the rio hostel in terms of ambiance, amenities and staff. The hostel is left without staff at various points throughout the day, there is limited English amongst staff to help with enquiries. There is no inside communal area for guests for evenings/bad weather which is common on iiha grande. The breakfast is probably the best part, however there is nowhere in the hostel to even buy a bottle of water.

I'm not really sure where to begin! This hostel is horrible. I had a private room (they were all privates). There were no real communal areas (something I think is vital in a hostel), there was no hot water, the bathroom sink leaked - so the floor was permanently wet) and it was never cleaned. Breakfast became a more pathetic affair as the week wore on and the reception staff were rude and I had to push very hard to retrieve a refund that had been left at reception for me. Do not stay here!
