Double bed room was not value for money. Had to ask for extra sheet ( given a small sheet only). Bathroom tiles in shower and area around sink were rusting. Bed very hard and really noisy location. Friends in hostel section had money stolen from the lockers!

It takes 30 minutes by train to brisbane! but you are very close to the harbour and it's a nice little suburb! the matresses were very bad it felt like you didn't have one at all! the bathrooms were very clean and the kitchen is big... free breakfast :-) and a pub right next to the hostel were you meet only locals!

If you like feeling depressed, this is the place for you. It's about as friendly as the London tube (eye contact forbidden, saying something outrageous like 'hello' may startle fellow guests). The staff seem to regard backpackers as 2nd class citizens and the younger fella needs a major attitude check as he is just outright rude for no reason. The location is far from everything - an hour on the train to Brisbane. Stay elsewhere....

Nearly everything was good. A bit annoying was the case that you could only use the Wifi before the kitchen and not in the kitchen or the living room, so that you had to stay on the floor all the time you had to use the internet. Secondly the printer didn't work; this was also annoying. The rest was fine ;)

Its very clean, the kitchen hardware is clean and functional. If you have transport, this is perfect - cheap and clean, bar next door, IGA across the street, coles 20min by foot or 5min by car.

THe problem with this Hostel is that Manly is a thirty minute 5 Dollar subway ride from downtown Brisbane and the time and cost offset the economy of the rooms. Manly is a yachting marina, with one short main street. But you can go crewing for free on Sundays. If you're wanting to stay in Brisbane and see the city, the location of this hostel is something to take into account. Apart from that, not bad at all.
