I stayed in the private room, no bed bugs like others have said, small fridge which was handy, ensuite could use a makeover but was still sufficient for my 4 night stay. This place is exactly what I would expect from a mid range backpackers anywhere in the world. Bar / restaurant was nice, food at standard pub food level, maybe a little pricey, but backpacker specials were ok. Best thing was how close it is to the harbour to get up and go for a long scenic walk in the mornings.

I think the staff is not very organised. The reception stinked. Also the bed was very uncomfortable. It was our only option that night. Will not take it again if we have another option!

I was not very impressed with Manly Harbour Backpackers. The location is not great - it's pretty far from the CBD and other cooler neighborhoods. The train takes a while to get out there and doesn't run very late at night. I did end up checking out late and they didn't say anything or require a fee, so that was one good thing. Otherwise it was just sort of blah. Not very clean. Minimal amenities.

At the beginning, very unorganized staff. The beds were very dirty, maybe no fresh bedding. Bedbugs available. Pillow and mattress yellow-brown coloured!! Main door in the night not locked. Dirty kitchen and rude stuff. We already booked 2 nights, after the first night we changed the backpackers very quickly.

During my stay at manly harbour backpackers I lost access to my bank account (im a dumbass) but the guys there did me a lot of favours and made my stay as enjoyable as it could have been under the circumstances. Manly is a nice little town, and the people, especially the staff here, are all good by me. highly recommend this place to anyone venturing into the Brisbane area.

I booked to stay at this hostel because the other reviews didn't really suggest anything that was actually wrong with the place. When my plans changed very last minute and I had to cancel my booking they were extremely friendly and polite and promised not to charge me even though it was on the day I was due to arrive. This hostel was like a dream.
