Arrived at 9pm and no-one was there. Someone in the street let us use his phone to call. 15 mins later the manager? arrived and said that the twin room we booked was unavailable, so we had to stay in the dorm. He offered a discount for this which turned out to actually be the normal price after we did the conversion. Trying to save money by a 'minimalist' staffing? Places already on websites like hostelworld don't need to have good customer services? A simple hotel nearby was cheaper & better!

Close to Galata tower, however its about 30mins walk to grand bazaar and blue mosque - we paid for public transport each day 4 lira each way so it added up. No maps provided from hostel and could only talk to staff avaliable after 2pm which was difficult. Coming back after day out no one seemed to be around for help as they don't stay at the hostel for long each day. But great price for a small apartment to ourselves.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing experience at Manon Hostel, however getting there was a bit tough. The hostel gives explicit instructions but they are not accurate. The hostel is more like 50 meters from the green mosque rather than 150 meters :) also, the street to look for is actually a flight of stairs. The only way I recognized it was a vertical neon sign saying MANON. If cleanliness is important to you, don't even consider the dorms. We paid 2.5 TL extra per person per night for a priv

Any incognito turkish guy was entering our room with no word at midnights....it wasnt safe for us, he had his stuff in lockers, he was using our bathroom!!!! So we were 7 ppl in 6-bedded room!!! and also this stupid incognito man!!! Its not fair!!! finally we got very very small discount for that inconvinience. But where is safety??? Bathroom was dirty...not cleaned enough often. It is cheap, but should be more clean. Hard to find. Staff ok. Nice view from the room on the 5th floor ;)

This hostel was very hard to find. Once we found it. We tried to check in. We had a reservation for two beds in a six bed dorm, but somehow they had over booked so I slept on a cot. Seven people in a six person dorm.

Nice location: between Galata and Taksim (15 minutes walking to both places). Cool small kitchen in a double room I stayed.
