No door locks for the dorms, but at least there is a lock on the front door at night. Very friendly and helpful staff, and I liked the old style. Also, there was a lot of space in the dorms, this was - beside that there's no door lock - the best dorm I've seen in my entire trip through New Zealand. Overall, good hostel.

Stayed in 8-bed dorm. Room was crowded and hard to walk around with no good place to put backpacks. Mattress is made of foam and completely compresses, so you are pretty much sleeping on a board. Kitchen was well-equipped, but quite crowded and cramped.Lots of nice common areas.Oldies music that is played throughout the day and night(off around 10PM)is too loud. Staff was nice and helpful. Location is within walking distance of city center/packNsave. Free WIFI. Good place to meet other travellrs

Nothing special. Cheap hostel but quite far out of the city centre so prepare yourself for a long walk if you want to venture in and around the city. Hostel staff could be a bit more helpful and would help more if they could speak proper english not that it was too much of a hassle.

The kitchen has a great atmosphere at meal times. I also liked the cosy games room. Staff were very helpful, even when I came back with a puncture in the tyre of a hostel-owned bike! Thank you for being great hosts.

A nice and quiet place for budget travellers, most suitable for backpackers, close to the city center and good for walks around Dunedin.

If you want fresh and youthful hostels, Manor house is it! Great atmosphere, saturday night was a keg party and all people were just partying. Still the sound was down at 11 PM, sharp. Would go again.
