The epitome of laid back this hostel is perfect if you want to escape from the chaos of modern life for a much simpler, down to earth way of enjoying Ilha Grande. As previous reviewers have noted the walk up a steep hill is a bit of a sweaty mission but it's doable and it means you're up on a hill away from the busy main streets. It has very basic amenities and the staff kind of leave you to it, but it's clean and safe and is a nice change from other places.

The hostel is located on a little hill but it's nothing to be really worry about. Instead you have some nature in a garden and a nice few. The rooms, bathroom and kitchen are totally fine. We were satisfied. No internet and breakfast.

You have to walk up a steep hill to get to the hostel. One of the days that we stayed, the power went out and we could only take cold showers. The woman who runs the place called a plumber though to get the shower fixed that day. There are two cats and a dog that live on the property so if you have any allergies, you might not want to stay there. It is a quiet place away from the center of town There are also some nice hammocks to rest in.

Great staff, relaxed atmosphere. Very accomodating--we showed up with a group of 12 and everything was ready quickly. Despite the climb up to the hostel, it was incredible.

Just what we needed. Lets just say, the owners let you chill.

You kind of love it, but you cannot work out why. The most charismatic hostel I've ever stayed in! Incredibly social too as there really isn't anything else to do. Climbing the hill is a royal pain in the arse though

My staying in the hostel was very nice. I liked the people who were there, the kitchen is good and the beds and toilet are clean the location of the hostel is uphill so you need to be in shape to climd for 10 minutes in a steep incline... the staff is unorganized,although they are very nice people. by unorganised i mean that people were told at 21:00 that they don't have bed to sleep in and they need to sleep in the hammock. In overall i had a nice time in the hostel! but it's not for everyone

Needs to be noted that there is a campsite right behind the hostel so quite a lot of noise and foot traffic. Kitchen and bathroom not really very clean although shower was warm. No seating or common area just outside. Foyer used as bedroom. Staff were friendly but not particularly helpful. The shower runs cold if used with lighting as electricity cuts out, rooms and doors all open and never locked although there are lockers. No internet although known previously. Room of 6 and smaller not 12.

I was worried about staying here due to the lack of reviews, but it turned out to be a great little place. It is pretty basic, but has a few hammocks, a good kitchen and a clean bathroom. It is small which is nice. It is up a bit from town, but everything is so close that the 5-10minute walk is not really an issue. There is no internet which makes it boring if it rains. I would stay here again, but would try for something in town first.

A very basic hostel, with few facilities but a nice staff. Cleanliness can be a problem, we found a bug on a bed.
