Excellent location, but sometimes it is hard to find the hostel, streets look the same. Jandro is a very helpful and nice guy . Place is nice and it has everything you need, but sometimes it is loud at night, lot of bars are around. We had an excellent week in Barcelona, and really glad that we picked Mapamundo. We would highly recommended to everyone.

Accommodation for people who are to busy (exploring best, old part of the city) to observe "imperfections" which comes together with the old building and who not scared of "graffiti"on the walls, on the streets and inside building, and who not scared of "goth" type people. Very friendly and attentive/helpful personnel. Money saving place!! Clean, very simple place(with good mattress) to get your sleep after exploring the city. Not for "show off" people.

I had such a good time at mapamundo! the guy taking care of the visitors is very friendly and helpful. the location is amazing. well regarding security ... just watch yourself in some streets around barcelona. maybe some people would not give 100 % but I think for the low price ... you get super value. And helpful the guesthouse was constantly clean.

Very friendly and competend Staff. Jandro is very helpful and a very nice guy, always with good tips if been asked. Speaks perfect english. The Hostel could be loud (lots of Bars around) but at arrival on the bed is beside a sweet a pack of earplugs. In winter its moderate. In the middle of the Barrio Gotic, not far from harbour an beach.

A bit loud the noise during the nights, very close to many bars so a lot of noise from the street.

youll feel yourself at home. a bit noisy at night, but I guess you can't avoid it in Barcelona Towncenter. i fell asleep pretty quickly. oh and theyve got nice little balconies.

Great location, Great staff who where really helpful. Really noisy spot as you are right in the heart of Gothic centre but ear plugs supplied. Had to climb into empty top bunk due to bed bugs. Loved Barcelona :)

Jandro is a very good and helpful guy, but the building is very old and not well keeped. Even though they clean regularly, you have the impression that's still dirty. Our room had to be closed with an improvised lock and you could easilly go in through the balcon anyway. If you're used to travel low cost and you're not very sensitive it's a pratical place to stay, otherwise keep looking!

Spent 3 amazing days in this rustic hostel with my girlfriend. Jandro, your host, is very friendly and informative. Very relaxed atmosphere. No curfew. Located in Gotic area, the hostel is fantastically located for your exploration of the city. People have apparently had issues with the showers...This was not our experience! Highly recommended.

Staff were lovely and very very helpful. We aren't super organized so their flexibility and help was much appreciated. Location is PERFECT! The place is nice and has everything you need, in our opinion it was quite expensive for what you get. regardless if we have the money we will stay here again :)
