Wonderful stay. Central location in the beautiful and charismatic Gothic quarter, walking distance to Las Ramblas and the beach. Tidy spacious rooms. Very friendly owners, provided with useful information and map. Also requested flight details so could greet us when we arrived, and provided very useful directions and map from Airport. Also free Wifi. Would highly recommend Mapamundo, thanks for a loverly hostel.

Friendly, informative and accommodating staff. Although there is no reception, a quick email sent through wi-fi on the provided computer or your own personal phone was responded to immediately (if you don't have a phone). Very clean, great location, great facilities.

This hostel was great value for money- perfect location right in the heart of the gothic quarter, close to many little quirky bars and restaurants and to many of the main sights. Jandro was super helpful and advised us on some great places to visit. A great hostel if you really want to immerse yourself into Barcelona life. Would stay again - Highly recommend! :-)

Alejandro was great at orienting us to the city and showing us the must-see sights and some cool places off the beaten path. Our private double bed room was large with big windows and lots of space. Bathroom seemed okay on cleanliness, bad shower water pressure and temp. Big kitchen, good internet. On our last day we left super early and found cockroaches in the kitchen! I also had a line of bed bug bites on my back. Thus, a very low cleanliness rate. MUST GET EXTERMINATOR IN!

This place is amazing! One of the best hostel I have had the pleasure to stay in Europe. In the middle of the Gotic area, only few mins from La Rambla, away from the touristic cliché but surrounded by small fabulous shops with a lot of characters. The room I had was huge and with a balcony. The staff - Jandro and Marco - were helpful and friendly. The place was very clean too. I think I got more than what I paid. I will most definitely stay in this hostel again.

The location is great, but be ready to have a noisy night (the hostel is providing ear plugs...). We had no hot water on the first morning, but the problem has been fixed later on the same day. The hostel staff was very welcoming, they gave a map and loads of info about the city and activities. The room was quite cold (we went in late february) as there was only a little electric heating radiator, the bathroom and kitchen has none, hence were very cold. But good value for money!!!

It served the purpose for needing a bed to sleep in for one night before an early flight in the morning. It was affordable, friendly and helpful staff. Cleanliness was so-so. The blanket they provided was really bad with nasty stains all over it. It was quite noisy, but they provided earplugs, which helped. It's quite a hike up many flights of narrow stairs, so be ready to climb!

The owner of mapamundo was great, he gave us a lot of information about the sights to see and gave us some excellent tips on how to get around barcelona. Even though we were the only ones staying there for 4 nights he came every day to check if everything was ok. Its a bit noisy as you are in a bar area but the airplugs provided nice and peacefull dreams:-)

The staff at Mapamundo are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very private and comfortable, and in the odd chance that something breaks or goes wrong (which has never happened to me, but anything is possible, anywhere), they can be reached with a simple phone call.

The guys who run the hostel were very helpful and welcoming There is only one small bathroom and toilet for the hostel but it didn't seem to be a problem The area is quite noisy at night and into the early morning but we were provided with earplugs Altogether a pleasant stay
