Hostel Mapamundo was awesome! As soon as we arrived we were met by an employee (maybe owner? Sorry I dont remember his name) who was super friendly and showed us lots of stuff to do on the map. The room was huge with our own balcony. The location in the old city was great proximity to lots of sites. Its easy to get lost around the Hostel but thats to be expected. Only complaints: Low water pressure, variable water temp, and small padlock to lock our room which could easily be cut off.

We loved our stay at mapamundo! Great location. No problems with noise outside, we plugged in our fan that was provided and it lulled us to sleep. Kitchen was big and provided us with a few extras like spices. I highly recommend it. Good for us as a couple it felt more like an apartment than a hostel. Fairly large rooms as well. Awesome place! Jandro was very helpful as well.

The rooms are in two apartments in the middle of the gothic quarter, with good location, but old facilities. Everything you needed was there: Linen, Towels, Internet, Kitchen Utensils,... Jandro explained everything to me by arrival, gave me advice on how to get everywhere, and whenever you needed something you could ask him. Also, every day the towels, bathroom rug was changed, and I could leave my baggage there after checking out. Definitely a nice place to stay single travelers or couples!

Absolutely brilliant! From the moment of booking, we were provided clear instructions from the hostel. Our host met us at the time agreed, welcomed and made us feel at home. It is perfectly located in the old town, which makes a great base for exploring the Barcelona area (we took a train out to Montserrat in the hills outside), but also to enjoy the lively nightlife (dinner/drinks/dancing) with a few short steps back to our beds.
