Ground floor is a little scary but once you take the elevator and get to the hostel in 12º floor, everything is ok. Besides, after one or two days, you get used to the situation. Miss Lee was very nice to us. Rooms are tiny but have everything you need.

The location is absolutely great and it's value for money. However, what you paid for is what you get. For a few day's it's good value for money, but if you want to stay longer I should pay more for a little bit more luxury and comfort. But indeed, this is value for money. Martijn

The lady is very friendly. Nevertheless, the room is small but acceptable for asian ppl. waiting at the lift is short compare to other blocks. As for the people downstairs that may pester u.. just ignore them.. dont even reply them den it will be fine.. Overall, it is a good stay!

Clean rooms, staff are helpful. They sell discounted tickets for the Peak, Ocean Park, and Ngong Ping 360. We were able to store our luggage there on our last day. Elevator takes a while as everyone says. If you're going down, sometimes it's better to walk up to the 16th floor instead to ensure that you get on! Location is not bad, super close to the MTR station.

The hostel is in a very good location and easy to find. The staff,Ms Lee, is very friendly and helpful. The room is rather small but with an equally small price,it's worth your money. The only bad thing is that you've got to pass in the Indian guys on the first floor to go to the hostel. They are quite scary to me,trying to sell things, but as long as you say NO to them and look as if you know where you are going, they won't bother you. My tip is that "leave early and go back late in the night

We had a great stay in Mayple Leaf. The staff were really helpful and kept the place in good condition. Chung King Mansions is pretty dodgy but it's really not that bad as long as you have some common sense - ie. people will try to sell you stuff and offer you better hotel deals etc, but just say "no thanks" and keep walking and they will leave you be. Follow your directions to the lift and you'll be fine, it's totally worth the cheap rates in a good location. We'd go back there any day :)

My first impression when i enter the building was that the surrounding place is not safe, a lot of indian and African hanging out in side and outside. very crowded too . but maple leaf hostel is on E4 Block and less crowded then other. the hostel itself is so clean and the owner is so nice to us. the room so clean. will be coming back to stay there again in the future. If you want to try stay at Chungking Mansion, better you choose Building blok E4 because it really less crowded then the other

I've stayed here a ridiculous number of times by now. Chungking Mansion can have some scary & sketchy places, this I will admit. However, Maple leave is hands down one of the good ones. If you get a chance to stay with them you will not be disappointed.
