I just stayed here a few nights on my way to Vancouver and I was impressed. Miss Li was very welcoming, informative and the location of the hostel is excellent if you want easy access to downtown Kowloon, Kowloon park and the harbor. There are loads of good quality restaurants to enjoy within easy walking distance with easy access to buses, the train system and the ferry. The room is modern, clean but very small, which is not surprising given that space is in such short supply in Hong Kong.

One of many stays at Maple Leaf. The staff continues to be extremely helpful. They are starting to know me by name & treat me like an old regular....which I am turning into. When going to Hong Kong this is the guest house I check first for availability. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms and showers work just fine. There is a water jug in the "reception" area you can use. Also I have never had an elevator problem here. Do yourself a favor & store your bags under your bed asap it helps.

It is ok, worth its price However, it is not a good place for single girls, because the surroundings are very complex. The elevators are too busy and too small. There are a lot of foreign bussiness people over there.

Was a bit hard to find the right elevator in Chunking Mansions. Ask security guard to point you the right elevator. Strangers tried to sell us fake rolexs, hotel rooms, weed, coke etc etc right after the A21 bus opened its doors. Just say "No thank you" to all and you will be fine :) Rooms was clean and small. Staff was friendly and advised us to find things to do in Hong Kong. Overall it was pleasant two nights stay, thank you!

Nice and friendly Miss Lee, first person u will see when u reach the hostel. She recommended us to buy advance tickets from her which is great as you get to skip the ticketing Q plus save 10-20 HKD for each ticket! The queue was super long at the cable car terminal but with our vouchers, i think we saved at least 2 hours queuing up for it! The room is as small as a storeroom but there\'s heater and tv. The lift is slow and the lobby is a bit intimidating but once u get out of it, hey! u are in a prime locat

I'm tired of hearing people say Chungking Mansion is sketchy. YES, THE INDIAN GUYS ARE CREEPY! However, there are plenty of perfectly good places to stay for a very reasonable price if you know where to look. Maple Leaf Guesthouse is one of those places. It is safe, clean, and run by helpful people. If you want a big room & a view go pay 50x as much somewhere else. Maple Leaf is a great place to stay for the budget traveler in HKG.

Very small room (only for sleeping), but spotless clean and up-to-date interior with friendly and helpful staff. You can hardly can better in this category.

Maple Leaf room was good & very clean even though it's the tiniest room I've ever seen. Room basically had space for the bed only. I had to keep backpack on the bed. Staff was friendly & helpful with tour information. Location of the building is a best & central location. Once you get off the building, you are close to all. However, the ground floor & lift of the building is the dirtiest, worst & scariest place I've ever seen with very scary people. Seems like ground floor is a black market.

I was very happy with my time at the Maple Leaf Guest House. While some have professed to have had difficulty finding their way to the facility through the shopping area, I had absolutely no problem what so ever. Additionally, I hade zero difficulty with "touts". They were there but you just have to be strong and polite with a "no thanks". All in all, a fine experience. I never met John but Miss Lee was wonderful and extremely helpful.

I was very happy with this guesthouse, the owners were very lovely and happy to help with anything. The room was small but it had everything i needed so i was fine with it for the great price. The Chungking Mansions can be a bit daunting when you first go in, but the security staff is helpful with finding your hostel and if you just ignore or say no to the shop hawkers they don't bother you. I never felt unsafe even as a solo traveller. i would definately go back :)
