Just stayed for 3 glorious nights in Shuhe - in Lijiang ancient city ( more like a lovely cosy village) just 6km north from busy but also nice Lijiang Old city - make sure you know which one you are going to when you get off the bus hahaha! This hostel was the best I have stayed in China n did not want to leave. Run by a Dutchman and his lovely wife and sister in law, all with excellent English, n gave me help n kindness beyond their duty! I just didn't want to leave!! I will be back in B8!

Great, helpful staff. But the music from the store next door that goes constantly (and often on the same song) from 8 AM to 11 PM can drive you crazy.

The location just great, a few mins walk from main entrance. The hostel provide local tour but I'm a bit dissapointed on the 2D1N Shangrila tour (Cause the tour gather diff group of peoples and it can be diversified to visit diff tourist sport. It cause those who not going wait inside the bus) My group pay extra on lunch but the tour guide doesnt know anything until reminded. He even get me to call my parents who wait at the hotel to take a cab to join for lunch and back to Lijiang in diff group

Great hostel, with really good home made bread at breakfast! In a town called Shuhe which is a 30 yuan taxi journey from the old town of Lijiang, but it's worth it because it's so much nicer! Would definitely stay here again

great hostel. On the down side it is a little far off from downtown Lijiang, especially the train station. I think the rooms looked better than in many other very highly rated chinese hostels (I've been to ~20-30). I really liked fresh shampoo soap and toothbrushes every day.

very good hostel, rooms and great pretty new, the staff is super friendly and the owner to very friendly and with alot of tips of moving around the area and going into the tiger leaping gorge, located in shuhe good place touristic but not as much as old town lijiang that is too touristic, there is a good bar area very close, walking distance actually. you feel like home, and their homemade bread is awesome specially if you been travelling in chine for a long time.

There are loads of hotels and hostels in Shuhe. This one is easy to find online but it hasn't to offer more than others. It's been the accomodation with the worst value for money on our whole trip in China. Generally everything was OK there, but nothing was outstanding in any way. The rooms were rather spartanic. The rooms get very cold in winter.

The main roblem with this place is that the rooms are arranged around a small, covered, central courtyard. Around ten o'clock if visitors want to come in and sit in a communal area they can laugh and bellow away in a big soundbox right outside your door. We were blessed with some very rowdy US and Chinese (the new US) guests who though nothing of making as much noise as possible. It is also a real problem that Chinese staff will not address these problems and so I would not recommend this place.
