building in very poor condition, room was very expensive, shower did not work. lounge had a bad smell, but staff were friendly

At £40 for a double en-suite, this is the cheapest in Ilfracombe, The building is dated but functions well. After reading this comment I checked the shower, and yes it didnt work, why didnt you tell me? You said staff were friendly, so why give us 1 out of 5? 1 for location? quiet side street close to high street and sea front AND as you used to live here, how can you give us 1 out of 5 for location? 1 out of 5 for security? there is 24 /7 staffing, combination front door lock, keys to your own room? what more do you want?

We had a great stay here. They have a nice lounge with movies and books. The staff was quite nice and everything was very clean. We would definitely recommend it.
