The atmosphere, staff and food at Maqai are fantastic but two things let them down. 1. The cleanliness of the huts - the bedding was stained and mouldy and the tent walls need a good clean. 2. They need to put fans in the huts - it could get stiflingly hot at night and also the kitchen staff just about melt in the heat-the kitchen really needs a fan. Just about everything else was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay - just struggled to sleep at night. A couple more hammocks too please!

Bula vina'a, thank you your review. It is the honest opinions such as this that are invaluable for our management to make Maqai Beach a better place. We will be working closely with our housekeeping team to ensure our huts are as clean as possible and will be looking to make some additions to our family of hammocks. Our Eco-Bures are specifically designed to catch maximum natural ocean breeze but every now and again, in mid summer, the wind completely stops. Our apologies for this- we will be installing a full solar system for the resort in April and we will assess our capacity to run sustainably powered fans at that stage :) Thanks and vina'a from the Maqai Tribe.
