Ich war fur eine woche da. Zur lage: es ist 20 Minuten zu fuss von der Stadt. Abends empfehle ich JEDEM ein taxi fur $1 zu nehmen, da es zu Übergriffen kam. Klar ist es auch angenehmer in der City zu wohnen, abet auf der anderen seite, kann man sich in zurück ziehen und auch mal ruhe haben. Ausserdem ist der strand nur über die strasse. Ein kubaner hat während meiner Zeit dort gejobbt und bei ihm hatte ich das Gefühl er hat was gegen weisse. Freundlichkeit zu Gästen hat er nie gelernt!!!!!!!

Loud music at nearby bar in the evening/night was really annoying... Not good for "relaxation". We were woken up early morning by shower (?) somewhere next door... Sounded like it was in the room. It has a really nice atmosphere outside, but not really big enough to have hostel feel. Not a lot of socializing, only one dorm I think. the guy at reception was not exceptionally helpful, he really wanted to sell tours and shuttles but was not friendly in the least. Not good for business!

Anyone that wants to feel really welcome to Bocas must go to this hostel, al the Staff it's extremely friendly, the place it's clean, really nice food or you can cock your own, they can tell you where to go or take you to really good spots. It's a little bit away from the Main Street but the truth is that you can walk 10 minutes, take a Taxy (60 US CENTS) or go by bike to it. They also have bikes ... Cool place to meet other travelers as well. Thanks guy for such a good time!!

I had a great, relaxing stay at Mar e Iguana and I would recommend it to anyone.

The staff was great, as was the hostel itself. It is in a beautiful location and far enough away to be able to relax while just a cheap taxi ride or quick walk into town. :)

It's an amazing hostel, where u get good value for ur money. Staff was always very helpful and friendly. It's just a bit far from town and don't be too scared if u see a gecko climbing up the wall in or outside ur room, they're harmless. Supermarkets, laundry-service and the beach are very close. I recommend it absolutely!

Mar e iguana is very nice hostel on a walking distance to centre of Bocas town. Staff is very frendly and there is a nice bar. They are also organising boat trips.

It's a really nice hostel (I stayed in the single bedroom with own bathroom) and especially the bar and the garden is great to hang out. The beach is right next to the hostel but the hostel is not in the city center. This was not a problem at all since it's you can walk, cycle or take a taxi to get to the center. I stayed for 1 week. Don't book over hostelbookers!!! The nights are cheaper when you book directly via the hostels homepage!!!! I would have paid 3 dollars less per night!!!!

I loved the hostel! it is beautiful. The only thing which kind of keeps me from staying there again is the staff. From the very first moment their attitude was weird and not very friendly. Otherwise I would have totally recommended this place! A shame.

Very bad beds/mattresses..
