Sam and Georgette are amongst the nicest guesthouse owners I have ever meet. They showed me and a couple of other travelers all over town and surroundings. Had a great time there and can't recommend this place enough. If you ever find yourself in Kuching, look no further!!!

You will not recieve any complaints from me about the living conditions at Marco Polo. And when I say "living conditions", I mean just that. Marco Polo is not a place that provides a distant approach toward guests that stay here. If you are lucky enough to stumbled upon this place while visiting Kuching, then you are in for a treat. I have accepted hospitality in various parts of Malaysia, in hotels and guest houses alike. Every experience has been different. Marco Polo is exceptional.

Nice hostel, with really friendly helpful staff who gave us the best welcome we recieved in Malaysia. Rooms have a lot of character but no window, the big locker in the room was a nice bonus. Breakfast was good. Only complaint it was a bit far from the city centre - 20 mins walk - but it's a nice walk down the river.

Very, very friendly. Exceptionally helpful staff. Thank you so much, we'll always stay at Marco Polo again if we return to Kuching.

Perfect hostel!! Our room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The aircon worked great, the bathrooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the beer and the laundry service are the cheapest i've seen in malaysia. They have a nice covered area outside which is good to hang out in, a tv with dvd's in the living room, wifi and computers to use, and the neiborhood has tons of good, cheap places to eat.

I stayed at Marco Polo with some friends for 4 days and it was wonderful! Sam and Georgette (the hostel owners) are really kind and helpful. Breakfast is free and yummy. The hostel is conveniently located right next to a bus stop, so you can travel outside of Kuching. The only downside for me (being lazy) is that our room was on one side of the hostel and the toilets were all the way at the other end. It's a nice, quiet place to unwind after a long day of hiking. I'd definitely recommend it!

Marco Polo was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was friendly, helpful and genuinely caring and nice. They clearly care deeply about running a quality business and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Stayed for 6 days but could easily have been 6 weeks. This is one of the nicest friendliest places i've stayed at in 20 years of travelling. Thankyou Sam, Georgette & Judith, i would definetly like to return one day.

Such a wonderful place! Very large, clean, comfortable rooms, clean shower/toilet, nice breakfast. Judith, Georgette, and Samuel are SOOOOO friendly and helpful! I would come back to Kuching just to stay here again!

This is like home. Sam, Georgette and Judith maintain a well run, comfortable and very affordable B&B. They will try hard to make your stay fun and worthwhile. They know Sarawak: What to see. How to get everywhere. They will call and make reservations ahead for you out of Kuching. You will learn from them about Sarawak as you sit and have a conversation in the kitchen. Everything works at Marco Polo: the air con, the WiFi..even a wide screen TV with cable. The best place to stay in Kuching!!

The owners Sam and his wife are among the friendliest guesthouse owners I have ever met. Sam picked me up at the airport (for a small fee, significantly less than what taxis would cost) and they always made sure that there was hot tea and fresh fruit waiting for me. Sam also was very happy to spend several hours talking about Malaysian politics, economics, world travel, and anything else with me, and had great recommendations for places to go and things to see. Would highly recommend.
