I really enjoyed my stay here! Close to town. Very spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Offer lots of movies for chilled out nights:-) Great kitchen. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The house is traditional, which means floor boards are slightly creaky and hot water isn't always hot. You won't be disappointed!
Someone else noted the fact that there is no breakfast, although there is hot water for coffee in a thermos. It would be nice if they had a CanOpener, at least! Also, hot water for showers is hard-to-find after 9 AM. But there are over 100 good movies on their hard disk, with a large flatscreen to watch them on!
Maybe the best hostel in the region. Quite near to the center and both bus terminals. The place itself is a attraction in the town, but at the same time is quiet. Just the walls could be a bit thicker, we heard every sound our neighbors were making!
Very helpful staff and tours that are worth the money! Had a good time there, would definitely come again!
I wish they offer free breakfast, that would be perfect! Kitchen is a bit small. I love their spacious room and big lockers!
Had a short stay here, very good. Would have liked to do some of the kayaking and trekking tours but we we're moving on. Rented bikes reasonable price and well maintained. Good kitchen and helpful staff
A great place to stay in an historic house with an attentive, friendly staff.
I only stayed one night, but the hostel seemed really nice. Good atmosphere, helpful staff and good facilities
One of the few hostels that is perfect in every way! Great facilities, clean large kitchen with all the necessary equipment and most importantly fantastic owners and a great team! Fantastic atmosphere where you can feel at home quietly reading a book or chatting with other travelers! Make sure you do the sunset kayak trip, one of the highlights of my trip so far!
Very nice hostel with traditional old style in Center of Puerto Varas. Very nice atmosphere and the rooms were good and with lots of space!
Great place to meet people, large dorms, helpful staff. Kitchen a bit small. No beakfast, but 50% discount available at local cafe and clise to supermarket
Excellent hotel. Very nice doble room. Room, bathroom & all areas very clean. Nice and helpful staff. Best price p/person we ever had in Chile. Fixed price with taxis for airport. Fully equiped kitchen + living room. Tea/coffee for free. Very good wifi (free to use everywhere in hostel). Breakfast not included but voucher with 50% discount in citycenter. Very closed to center, in quiet street, so we slept very well! They offer xcursions. Suprised that towels are not included in doble room.
I am back for a second stint on route to Bariloche as I really liked this hostel. Its in a huge and beautiful house, actually one on the walking circuit around Puerto Varas, and is incredibly spacious with comfortable living areas and fantastic staff that are always smiling and willing to help. Its certainly not a party hostel and perhaps its sister hostel may be better suited to meeting travelers but for a chilled out stay with everything you need, I couldn't recommend this place more.
Spacious rooms, friendly staff. I've tried a few hostels in Puerto Varas and this is the one I recommend to others...
Very little can be said about the hostel that hasn´t already been said. From our end, the staff made all the difference in the world. Our nights at Margouya were punctuated by brief camping stints. The staff went our of their way to not only accomodate our non-typical requests to store luggage, etc etc, but gave their honest and informed opinions. In short our time in Puerto Varas and the lake region was made by the Margouya Patagonia Hostel. Stay here if you can!

Excellent hostel. Always full, and there's a reason why. Great social atmosphere, great city, excellent staff. Possibly also one of the cleanest hostels with the most comfy beds I have come across so far. Very pro.
Muy buena atención , clima cálido y acogedor.
Hostel is in a good location. Close to the bus terminal, supermarket and town. Staff are quick to give a map and recommend places to eat and things to do. Beds are big and very comfortable. Shower was hot and powerful. WiFi was quick. Kitchen and communal areas are good and well equipped. The only downfalls were lack of storage. My partner and I had to share a small storage box - so didn't really have anywhere to put anything. Lack of drying space for washing if you needed it.
