The directions from the Train/Bus station were very poor and it would be helpful if the hostel would go to the effort of informing guide books that they no longer offer a pick up service. The directions from the Train/Bus station were very poor and it would be helpful if the hostel would go to the effort of informing guide books that they no longer offer a pick up service....Close

This is a charming New England house turned into a hostel. You can see it has been around for a while and as a result it\'s not quite updated. Even though the staff is kind I think they could use someone younger to help out. The location is alright if you take a bus, if not it\'s about a 30 min walk from downtown. The rooms were a little dusty but comfortable and I felt safe on the area. A plus are the restaurants close to it. Since there aren\'t many options I would stay there again. This is a charming New England house turned into a hostel. The house was pretty empty, so it was quiet, but not very fun. No "fun" room anywhere. There were signs everywhere in duplicate: "Don't wash clothing in sink" "No sleeping bags" "No food or drink" "Keep hostel clean" and yet the office and basement were FILLED with clutter. The house is old and I did not want to shower there. All in all it has a great location, sleeping accomodations were fine, the price was a little steep considering I didn't find anything great about Hartford. The house was pretty empty, so it was quiet, but not very fun. I would have liked a cleaner stay but understand this is difficult. I have never stayed at a hostel before and have learned the cleanliness is a known factor often.
I was attending a model train convention at CTCC.
I was in Europe last year and was considering Hostel life there also.I would have liked a cleaner stay but understand this is difficult. I have never stayed at a hostel before and have learned the cleanliness is a known factor often.
