Really bad staff !! Really bad hotel !! Le staff n'est pas du tout professionnel, les douches et wc dans plusieurs chambres sont bouchés, etc... Staff not friendly and not professional, the showers and lavatory where stuck

the best hotel is the location. moreover, both the cleaning, as the size of the hotel, and wifi are bad.

A simple, neat room, with only the drawback that the doors in our building had glasses which were partially smoked, so that it was possible to distinguish someone on the other side. (probably a former office.) Some clothes or a towel could block the view completely, so that it isn\'t that much of a problem. A simple buffet-style breakfast (toast, eggs etc.) was served at the reception for 5 euros. A 5% (or was it 10%?) tax on the payment and a 20 euro deposit for the key had to be paid at check-in, which co

It was exactly what I needed- clean, comfortable and great location easy to get to. Staff were friendly and helpful and I thought it was very good value for money.

-Cleaning staff STEALS from the rooms (money and other things). -Some rooms were not ready two hours after check-in time. -There was one small bathroom for about six rooms, which made it really difficult in the mornings and evenings. -Next door there was a huge noise (party), nobody did everything about it. -You have to pay 5% extra money, called "city tax". -The rooms are very different, usually with very small space, and also the cleaning frequency seems random.

The good rating has been just regarding the position, we stayed in a six room bedroom but it would has been small even for a single person. There was just one wc and one shower on floor for 4 rooms. The cleanliness was just an option, we found some beatles in the bathroom and our sheet were dirty.

On our first night we had dirty sheets, a door that would not close and a mouse in the room. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Our next room (we had to move due to bookings mix-ups) was cleaner but we had staff knocking on our door every morning telling us we needed to have checked out already, even after we told them we had another three nights. The showers and toilet were revolting. The only thing that was satisfactory about this hostel was the location.

you get what you pay for during the week. but the prices on weekends are insane compared to what you pay for it. the rooms are not cleaned very good (but the beds were clean) and we even had a mouse running out when we entered first. but the location is perfect, just a two minutes walk to the leidseplein. if you want to party and don't care too much how the room your beds stands in looks like, it's fine.

More like a college dorm then a hotel. The room was in a separate building from hotel. The house was split into three floors, each with their own bathroom and kitchen. Getting up the stairs was bit of a work out, don't try to do it drunk or you will break your neck. the room was clean and tidy, although the bed where on wheels and tended to move while you sleep. We weren't to sure about the security, we were not offered the lockers as advertised. Location was great, bed were clean, good value.

For us as scandinavians we are used to dark bread, and would preciate fresch bread from the dutch great bakeries, and of course your cheese in different shapes would be perfect.

Excellent location... 2 minutes walk form Leidsplein! Room was really small and had a funny musty smell but worth the money.

Very neat and very well located. Good beds to sleep in. Big minus that the walls of the hotel are like paper and you can hear all the noise from other rooms and the dorm that I stayed had private bathroom but no lock in it! (not nice)

decrease the number of beds by 4 in a room in eg: k1, k2 etc.. 6 is way too many.. its more like milking business outta these rooms and it gets really stuffy... you need some space to stand too..

difficult accessibility to the room, because of the narrow stair-corridor which looks like cliffs.clean, nice room and bath, nice stuff.i was expected a double bed or two twins as i had order but instead of this i saw a bunk, it looks like in army.

Very standard hostel, extremely overpriced for the facilities they offer. Basic facilities and poor security - our dorm room door didn't shut properly and remained unlocked sometimes. Good location next to heaps of clubs and bars.

I found for the price the Hostel was super.... They cleaned our room every second day and it was very very clean. THe only thing was that the wifi didn't work in the room. But we had also a balcony and it was quiet and save. Also it was very central, near Leidseplein where there is many nightlife =). I would come back to Marnixhostel =)

The staff were really nice. The location is great, just a few minutes walk to Amsterdam central station. The only thing with this hostel is the stairs. Watch your step, it's a steep climb up to the rooms. An extra plus, the staff gave us free ice cream in the lobby, would stay again. :)

The location is quite good, easily accessible to the central station and airport. The room is quite poor, with 10 people sharing only two plugs.
