I knew a lot of cities in Europe and I stayed at some hostels, and marnix hotel (i don't believe that is a hotel) was the worst in my trip...the staff was terrible, there is a gay staff that lead so bad with the people..

very good location, but old building and many stairs inside. Cleanliness more or less ok, but we had a mouse in our room..

All I can say is that this hostel was horrible!! We felt like we were being locked up in Fritzl dungeon... If you are a person that likes sleep, oxygen, good service and not waking up to a guy that throws his guts up at the other side of the hall for 30 minutes, then never ever stay at this hostel!! We are happy that we came out of it alive.....

Bug's in the bedrooms, I was eaten alive! Very noisy, the walls only go up 3/4ths of the way to the ceiling. Very nice showers though.

Worst 'HOTEL' ever! It is not a hotel, it is an much overprized hostel. Unfriendly staff, ridiculous brakfast. Worst: bath (entirely!) covered in mold and a rat in the room! No reaction to complaint in hotel and complaint via email. I have pics and video to proof this all. I am really not sensitive, but this hotel is the worst crap in whole europe. Be aware! Do not go! Somebody call Board of Health! Regards, M

This place is like most hostels but the lack of caring and condescending that exuded from the staff drove me insane. You cannot use anything whether it be phone or adaptor for US/UK appliances. And usually you get the dull, uncaring response, "You can find it down the street." The lack of concern for guests makes this the worst hostel I stayed at in Europe.

The hostel was average. The location was good and the directions given were helpful and was easy to find. The free breakfast was good and the price was fairly cheap. however the rooms weren't that great. i was in the bottom level and you could hear every single noise that anyone made from that level (ie if someone opened a door and then closed it you could clearly hear it). overall it was a fairly good hostel.

The staff was nice and friendly, free internet's great and the place was clean enough. The breakfast wasn't the best I've had (toast with cheese, ham and strawberry jam +tea/coffee/juice) but it was ok. The hostelrooms we stayed at were bunker-like cabins in a cellar. It did get a bit cold and moist down there but it wasn't too bad to sleep in:actually I slept like a log. Great location and the free guides were of great help. All in all a good place to keep your belongings and sleep at.
