I loved this place. It is perfectly located right by the airport bus and minibus station, etc... The staff were really nice and always cleaning, very clean place. The air con made it very comfortable. The free breakfast was nice and the free coffee was excellent. The free use of computers was also very nice. There are 3 wifi signals. Best of all no bedbugs. It was not a party hostel and was quiet for the most part, but people were still friendly and went out. It really is the best hostel in KK.

This is my first time to stay in female-dorm type room. At first, I'm a bit afraid with the security of my belongings, but my worries are gone because I have a good impression during my stay in Masada. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. And, I also like the free banana, cup cakes and hot chocolate that provided for us :). I will come and stay in Masada again when I visit KK next time.

The choices for breakfast is good, particularly important before heading to Mount Kinabalu for the day's hike. Toilets are surprisingly very clean, even though the drainage of water in the bathrooms is a little slow. The atmosphere is also lacking, but amenities are sufficient for a comfortable stay.

Place is very secured. It is quite popular in Kota Kinabalu so it is not hard to find.

Great hostel - good location, good value for money and very clean! The breakfast and coffee/Milo machines were much appreciated too! The staff were also friendly and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Kota Kinabalu. :)

The reception is 24 hour. The staff have provided extensive tour information for you to peruse and can help you with almost any issue you may have. Somehow, they provide drinks (beer) cheaper than just about any shop. I found the beds to be excellent, firm, with good pillows. I was lucky enough to sleep on a normal bed too. The common area is great and I was able to meet some really great people there. Most people go here to climb Mt Kinablu, which I am sad say is a bit of a tourist trap

地点好,市中心,干净整洁,还有可以晾衣服的地方,老板很热情,还帮忙介绍可以游览的地点,早餐虽然有点简陋,但是随意吃,挺不错的

I received an E-mail from Masada Backpacker, told me to prepare all the things before setting off.very friendly. "we attached herewith the airport bus time table if you prefer to get here by bus at RM 5.00 per person, (you can buy your ticket at the airport bus ticket booth at the arrival hall); the bus stop is just nearby and it take about 5 minutes walk to our place only. Of course the easiest and most convenience way is by taxi at RM 30.00 per taxi, as it will drop you just in front of us. "

I really liked this hostel and ended up booking a couple more nights once we arrived. It was a bit more pricey than some others but well worth it. That said while we were there the a/c had broken in one room but they quickly had it fixed before bed time (efficient!). The showers were hot (bonus!) but they did flood quite easily as they are stalls lined next to each other and the drain was clogged so you ended up stepping in everyone's dirty shower water. If that's fixed then I highly recommend.

They sold beer cheaper than 7/11!

Kota Kinabalu is such a charming town! Masada is a typical backpackers hostel that was a great place to meet people and a fantastic base for day trips around KK, or even further. I would recommend basing yourself in KK, as it is more friendly and much nicer than Sandakan. Two thumbs up for Masada.

I love this hostel! It was a very pleasant stay here with a big group of friends here. The place is very clean, with bed sheet changed daily! Simple breakfast included fresh cup of coffee, banana, toast with butter & jam. The atmosphere is good. Staffs always smiling :) The only thing I wish to comment is there is no separate basin for teeth brushing which could be a little inconvenient. Totally value for money!

Clean place, quite convenient. 24hr staff, not exactly chatty but friendly enough. Would recommend.
