It would be nice if the swimming pool was open until sunset. We arrived at 5.0, when it was closing.

Excellent location. The facility is called a guest house, but in reality it is an excellent youth hostel. As a mature traveller I would have preferred more comforts, eg comfortable beds.

This is a great hostel in a brilliant location. The only problem we had was that in the evening we had the noisiest neighbours with kids that kept shouting until gone 11pm (which when you hve to be up at 4.30am for the sunrise is a bit annoying). We asked if we could have another room as the guesthouse wasnt busy but the reception staff had gone and the security man just said no. With earplugs it wasn't too bad but if you don't like noisy kids ask for a quiet room.

Was a great place to stay. All the buses stop there so it's easy to get to after swimming in the Dead Sea. Good dinner and breakfast. Air conditioning in the rooms, which was already quite necessary at the beginning on May (though a temperature control instead of just on/off would be nice). I can defnintely recommend getting up really early to hike up and see the sunrise from the Masada. Ein Bokek is the best place for swimming in the Dead Sea IMO, good public beach and restaurants.

The location is fantastic if you wish to climb Masada for sunrise. It was awsome to receive a free upgrade. I appreciated the swimming pool for cooling off after the visit of Masada. I would have liked the breakfast hours extended to 10am or 10h30am so as not to rush at the end of the visit to be on time for breakfast. Also the timetable for the bus back to Jerusalem was out of date so I had to wait for another hour because I had just missed the bus. Apart from that the hostel is great.

Masada GuestHouse has an excellent location. Staff helpful and patiently answered questions. Room was fairly clean, some sand had blown in the window and needed to be brushed from the bed, however linens were clearly laundred, sanitized. Single room with a private bath was basic and suitable. Breakfast was plentiful, eggs cold. Great variety of fruit/vegetables and cold salads, Saturday morning fare had a few hot items. Good value for the price,it is all about location, location, location

The lady on recption was very rude and unhelpful. However, the security staff and the restaurant staff were great. The food was pretty average but the rooms were very clean and the location was fantastic with beautiful views from the balcony.

The setting was gorgeous--a great base for Dead Sea travels. Food was fine, especially considering the hostel had already done cleaning for Passover and was limited in what it could serve. Great hikes right from the hotel through the local terrain in addition to Masada. We had to pay for 4 even though we were a family of 3 because we wanted the larger room, and still it was reasonable. Seemed to be a good place for families and singles.

Perfect location to climb the mountain, friendly staff. They let us stay in our room longer without paying an additional fee, they even OFFERED it to us. Dinner was very good, superb choice of Mediterranean food for NIS 64, which is great because there is nothing else within 12 kilometers around the hostel. Enjoyed my stay here.

My daughter and spent 3 days at the Masada Youth Hostel. On the positive side, we thought that the rooms were excellent. WE had our breakfast and evening meals there and thought that the variety of selections were good especially breakfast which was excellent. There were some large school parties there which we felt could have been supervised more closely in the evenings. The noise was incredible and during one night, this went on until 2.00am. Quite unacceptable.

The only downside of this hostel are the school groups that come through and can be loud. THe staff was amazing and really helpful. Also, free israeli breakfast! :)

The breakfast was abundant with many choices; hummus, salad, cereal, coffee, fruit, vegetable, toast, eggs, bread. Bravo!! The hostel has spacious, clean and comfortable dorms. I was there when school children were on holiday, so it was particularly noisy, but besides that it was perfectly adequate. With views of Masada and the Dead sea you feel very small amid a vast landscape. The facility is spotlessly clean. Free coffee and tea would be a bonus, but doesn' exist.

Children staying in facility often were very loud in the late evening and there was a lack of supervision for them. We ate dinner and breakfast and food was average at best. Dinner entres were process food and poor. Location excellent. Soap provided in bathrooms needed to be better quality and larger bars.

Massada has a fantastically safe hostel with very clean and spacious rooms, all set in a beautiful location. Essentially I have no complaints, but you get what you paid for. My one major frustration is charging for using wifi. I opted to NOT pay for wifi, given how I was already paying 130 shekels for my bed. It's inconvenient and backwards to make guests pay for the use of internet. In every other regard I felt like an honoured guest, but no internet was not appreciated.
